My First 17 Days

I first joined Wealthy Affiliate on June 20th, and the last 17 days have seemed like a whirlwind of activity.

I've been through two sections of the training material and I've learned quite a lot. The lessons have taken me to the point that I can now say that I have my first Wordpress site, deluxebirdcages.com, which right now only contains a small handful of informative articles.

Those articles were a roller coaster to write! When I got to the lesson that specified writing that first 1,000 word article I just about panicked. I hadn't written anything more than a grocery list in years, how was I supposed to pull 1,000 words out of thin air?

Once I finally started though, I realized that writing was the same as so many other things, getting started was the hardest part. I was happy to discover that I was able to find about 1,200 words hidden between air molecules that first day.

I suppose that it was just as well that I panicked over the thought of writing so much, it gave me some practice for the new thing I have to panic about, social media!

As I was going through the last lesson in section 2, I was instructed to set up a Google+ account, and it started to really sink in that I would probably have to set up multiple social media accounts for every niche I decide to pursue.

Where do you guys even find the time? I admit that as an individual I've never been very good at social media, I just don't usually feel the urge to share personal events with people. But now I have to dig deep and figure out how to professionally maintain multiple accounts, yikes!

I suppose that this just another time that getting started is half the battle, and I just have to jump in.

Wish me luck!

P.S It's a good thing I found this to take with me.

LOL! That life preserver image is awesome. You aren’t the only one with a perceived writer’s block. I say “perceived” simply because that is what it is for me. I get this I’ll feeling when I know I have to write. My grammar was never that good so I would always panick at the thought of writing anything. I’ve gotten better with it as I grow older. However, I really enjoyed reading this. I wish you all the best of success here.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the life preserver. I try to put some sort of interesting picture in a post. I've always preferred visual communication but I'm going to do my best with writing! :)

Hi Sarah
It looks like you are doing well!
Writing does get easier with time. ;-) Just keep at it.
Wishing you all of the very best!

I'm glad it gets easier, I just have to keep practicing!
