Can graphics design be a niche
A niche can be anything you want it to be.
There are always going to be people interested in a certain topic and will search for it. If you're considering a "How To" that's not a bad idea at all. As long as you're passionate and able to write content on your niche then you should be fine.

Graphic design can be niche - of course.
Maybe you should narrow it down a bit eventually.
I mean take a look at the links other WA guys have left and think about it.
The point is - do not rush it.
You may find out that you niche eventually be
Graphic design for kids
or
.. for beginner
or
... for for t-Shirts
or..
- whatever suits your interest the best.
I am not sure if you are aware of the Alphabet Soupt Technique already, but that can give you a lot of ideas as well.
