"Posting on wa should be for wa members only"

I am creating posts, targeted for the non-WA member (outside of WA) who may read the article.

I am told that we ca

You don't need to promote through your blog posts. You are creating blog posts here for the community, if you want to create content for people outside of WA, then I would do so no your actual website.

So blog posts here for the community (they can still rank and you get benefit from that), but anything that is promoting anything...even if it is WA, should go directly on your website.

Thanks Kyle. Appreciate your response

Hi - its not really that clear, to be honest.

Ideally, you should be writing for other WA members, offering helpful advice we can benefit from.

And this might naturally appeal to other non-WA members who find the post in Google.

Personally, I don't promote WA, but have acquired around 20 referrals, who presumably joined after seeing one of my WA posts on Google.

However, none of them have ever upgraded, I can't imagine it's a very successful way to get premium referrals.

Just as an aside, your latest post says that premium members can host 50 websites, and that was reduced years ago.

New members can only host 3 sites.

Thanks Diane. Appreciated. Shall correct that.

Hey Kez,

Yes, posting on the WA platform is for premium and premium plus WA members only.

And, there is a big benefit to your posting great, helpful content for newbies to WA!

When YOUR content brings a new person to the WA platform and then they sign up as a member, YOU gain affiliate credit for that new member.

And... you CAN post even on your website if you'd like. Just be sure to use your affiliate links.

Here's a tutorial to help you: Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you 🙏 much appreciated

Hi Kez,

This is a post that I made last year, promoting Wealthy Affiliate within Wealthy Affiliate and it got ranked on google. I need to post more content on my WA profile, the only issue with posting is not to promote your website in live chat, or it looks too spammy while you are having a conversation.

I have been busy creating content on my websites, have a look in my profile.

Regards

Brian

Thank you Brian. Appreciated

Brian promoted it for his would-be referral members; just be cautious of what looks like a promotion. Everyone says all for WA, so if I have referrals, I can write to them on WA post for them to be premium and premium plus or grab Black Friday deals. In one article you wrote about how to do affiliate marketing for free," typically WA is not free, and that's where you have to be careful to distinguish yes starters can stay "free." Still, the starters in hubs can't get any more training and can't go further, so affiliate marketing for free would be challenging, but it's doable. Still, it can confuse people -we do not want to mislead anyone by saying WA is free- it's free to try out. I am always honest to say that there is minimal investment. All online business requires investment, they have to buy domain name, get hosting, promote their site so it does cost money. Nothing these days are FREE.

Thanks Brenda. Appreciate this

Thanks Brenda

You can post about anything you like on WA, but you would normally target it at other members. However, it's a post like any other and as such can be indexed and ranked by Google, so anyone with an internet connection may see it.

Actually, no, you can’t post about anything you like on WA. We just had a flurry of posts about what is NOT acceptable to post on this platform.

Other than the no-no list, posts on WA must be about making money online. This isn’t Facebook!

Must be about making money online? Have you looked at WA blogs?

Clearly, you can't self-promote in a WA post, but there are plenty of general interest posts that are not to do with making money online.

I recently published my 400th post on WA and they always appear in the top 10, often making it to number 1, so I do have some experience here.

But thanks for your input.

Excellent point, Kirk. Most are about helping other members with online issues (not necessarily MMO) but many are just "hey, this is interesting".

See Kyle’s comment. Yes, this poor behaviour has been going on for a long time and it’s about time it STOPS.

I’m sick of being spammed with unrelated content. Save it for your on blog or for Facebook.

On the latest reminder from Kyle about this, he posted in the comments:

“If it is not relevant to building an online business, the content should be shared on your own website. And no promotions here within WA. If you follow both of those, you should be just fine here. ;)”

I agree with you 100% and am waiting for the day this happens.

"relevant to building an online business" is a much broader scope than "must be about making money online".

Semantics. It’s still far narrower than, “You can post about anything you like on WA” or “general interest posts that are not to do with making money online”.

Wealthy Affiliate is also a community of people both helping one another and interested in what they are doing.

The #4 Ambassador (only after Kyle, Carson and Jay) posts a daily WA blog that is essentially his daily diary, illustrated by photos of his pets, girlfriend and current weather.

It's hugely popular and gets a lot of interaction.

As I said, he's the highest placed non-founder Ambassador.

Are you suggesting that he should be banned?

Kyle could easily put that comment in the rules if he really wanted to clear this up.

There are many things that you can't post about, including self-promotion, pornography, politics, hateful comments and so on. I didn't specifically mention these as they are site-wide bans, not specifically related to blog posts.

I suspect the founders really like the social aspect of many blog posts. It shows that they have created an interactive, supportive community.

No, I’m suggesting that we should ALL follow the rules that Kyle has set out. Being highly ranked should NOT give a free pass. This is disgusting, self-indulgent behaviour that I truly hope stops.

Might does not mean right.

I respect your opinion, Darlene.

Thanks

Thanks

Hi WA members,
Can you blog about any topic when writing articles for WA blog? Or its restricted to only the industry?

With a WA blog post, you can blog your questions at the Wealthy Affiliate, the Pencil, and the top menu. Choose Blog at WA.

Again, you may like to post about why you chose the Wealthy Affiliate, how you came about your niche, goals for this week, and the following aspirations, etc.

Also, in the pop-up blog window, you can check the topics within to see what you can blog about. For example, I like the "Mindset & Motivational" category.

Hi - there is some guidance in the official posting rules.

To me, the most important aspect is not to post anything you intend to put on your website.

If you plan on adding this to your own site, and it is posted here too, then Google will assume it is duplicate content.

WA is a website like any other, and the posts published here are indexed pretty quickly.

So, when Google finds it on your website too, it will assume you have copied it, it has no way of knowing that you wrote the original.

This will affect the ranking of the post on your website.

Thanks 🙏 appreciate that advice. Wishing you all the best

I note that our blog posts on WA platforms does get indexed by Google. Do you get referrals from the posts?

You can do yeah :) If they land from search engines, they've prompted signup; if they later upgrade, you'll get commissions as long as they remain subscribed to the platform.

They'll have to go through hubs before they can communicate with the platform, but not the activity or the live chat.

Thank you.

You're welcome, Kessy :)

What is your success experience in promoting Click Bank products?

A lot of publishers get dazzled by Clickbank because they see high payouts, but in truth, most of the sales for those products came as a result of pay per click instead of blog posts. Many of the products have no brand name recognition at all. Return rates can be high because the products aren't any good. Be careful to truly know the product before you recommend it.

I think there is brand recognition with a lot of the products but it is harder for the newbie to discern

Perhaps, but only within some niches like MMO. I've never found a Clickbank product I'd want to buy.

That's helpful. Many thanks

Hey Kessy,

Shared my story awhile ago now: Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Trish, thank you so much for this reference. Your story is inspiring and very helpful.

Clickbank is not a platform for newbies. First of all you need to have five different credit cards purchasing your products before they pay you out. Also, they take a fee if you don't have regular sales. It is easier if you have an email list and regular traffic to your site and you are prepared to use paid traffic

Thank you that it useful

There are some great products with low refund rates and some with massive refund rates, fortunately, you know before hand

Thanks

My experience with promoting ClickBank products is little every week. I try to choose products that have a low refund rate.

Read somewhere about the high refund rate, too. Thank you for that.
