Today, I commenced Phase 3 of Wealthy Affiliate's 5-phase Online Entrepreneur Certification Course. This level of the advanced training teaches you how to generate revenue from a website.

Six (6) ways to generate revenue from a website are as follows:

  1. Affiliate programs
  2. Google Adsense advertisements and other similar Ad programs
  3. Building a list of subscribers to your website
  4. Amazon products
  5. Provide advertising avenues for relevant advertisers
  6. Creating your own products and selling them on your website

It is not that difficult. Wealthy Affiliate teaches and provides the most advanced platform at the lowest possible cost for anyone, including complete a complete beginner, to learn how to build your own website and generate revenue from it.

How much we earn depends on the number of people who visit our website. So traffic is the key. In Phase 2 of the course, I learned how to generate traffic, undertake Search Engine Optimization (SEO), write keyword-rich articles and get my site ranked in Google under low-competition keywords.

Content = Traffic = Revenue

I have in the past made mistake of putting Google Adsense ads on my website without adding relevant and consistent content. I earned pennies. Now I'm learning the proper way of making money with my website. I am working on my content, doing keyword research and SEO. To generate revenue from your website, create content with keywords that people are searching.

"Add Value First, Before You Sell" - Kyle

I like Kyle's statement - "add value first, before you sell...if you help people, they will buy from you". By the way, Kyle is the co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate. Together with Carson, they have provided the most advanced (but simplified) platform on the internet for anyone who wants to start an online business and succeed.

Our website must first provide information that helps people. The selling should come afterwards. Revenue is generated from real people visiting our website. They are looking for information that provides solutions or leads to them purchasing something that meets their needs. So the "selling" part should not take prominence over helpful, valuable information.

Running a business, whether online or offline, is about building relationships with the people who are potential customers. Once we have the TRUST of the people who are interested in what we offer from our website, they will purchase without hesitation. If we make our website the dumping grounds for promotions, not only the people will leave but Google will not rank your website well.

Customer Purchase Lifecycle

Learning about the Customer Purchase Lifecycle has been an eye opener for me. I actually like this component of the training. Every affiliate marketer must understand this, in order to generate revenue from a website.

I am so grateful to the founders of Wealty Affiliate Kyle & Carson for providing this advanced and most powerful learning, networking and website building platform on the internet. The 1.2 million plus members are actually a supportive community helping each other out for success online.
