I have seen many discussions in this regard, and the prevalent explanation is that a low QSR is indicative of the fact that nobody else is promoting it and/or make money from that keyword.

I understand the rationale behind it, but what slays me is that you often find that despite the low QSR, it displays a reasonably high search volume.

Would it not be reasonable to think that if that keyword is searched so often and there is virtually no competition, then that would be a profitable keyword to target ?

Or could it be that the Jaaxy search result is not to be trusted ?

I will welcome your comments please.

This depends on the reason you are using the keyword. If you are using it for search traffic to your site any traffic is better than none, and a low QSR gives you a great chance to rank page one, which is the only place you will actually get any of the search results visitors to your site.
If you are using the keyword for PPC it will not be worth much because of the low search results. You must understand how PPC works to understand that aspect of it.
Jay teaches to go by the stay as close to 100/100 method as possible.. !00 monthly searches and 100 QSR.
Kyle teaches anything 50 or over for monthly search results and the lower the QSR the better, but never over 200 QSR for low hanging fruit keywords or keyword phrases.
I will take them all the way down to 25 search results myself.
Unless I have an established website that carries authority I do not use anything but the low hanging fruit method.
Hope that helps :)

A low qsr is not bad! Who would say such a thing? If there is high search values and low qsr, that's the keyword to use!
