Hello business friends,
I'm bringing this to question. What if Google shuts down its search engine here in the U.S.? What would happen to our websites, contents, or online business? I'm asking this because their is speculation that Google is threatening to shut down its search engine in Australia. Australian government wants Google to pay for every news feed that are on its search engine. Facebook is planning to ban news feed or search on its platform there too if the Australian government don't back down from making laws to make the big tech giants pay. What are your thoughts if the U.S. government plan to do the same here?

I think you make a good and interesting point. So worth bearing in mind there are other search engines too. It seems "social media" has become too powerful too, I think we need to anticipate regulatory change of the Internet, so keeping an eye on smaller search engines and other platforms, is I think, sensible to do.

Have a grea day.

While I agree that there are other engines too, I am thinking of this as a whole. If they can do it to the biggest search engine like Google to set the standard why not do it to the others as well as it wouldn't make any sense to the point. This was all about making search engines pay for something we're getting for free. I think if it happens and the U.S. see it as so, it can happen here also which I might have the search engines make us pay in some ways to recover loss revenues. But we'll have to wait and see where this is going and how this will affect us as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this friend. All the best!

Not sure 'cause we don'the have Google in the Caribbean, but for the United States it might cause chaos.

That is my take.

Regardless if you don't have Google or not. The point is if they can do it to the biggest search engine, then other countries will have the same idea and do it to the other search engines too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. All the best!

I would be afraid too friend. If they do it to one, they can apply it to the others as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. All the best!

Yes and so do the other search engines friend. If they can do it to one, they will eventually apply it to the others as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. All the best!

Not if other countries follow and do it to the other search engines also. That would be something I wouldn't want to see. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. All the best!

I see friend. But I'm asking the obvious questions of what will happen if we the U.S. take the same action, would we struggle to get our businesses across to our customers/visitors? No search engines, no info, no new business exposure, and so fort. My main objective is how are we going to survive? I'm not just talking about Google, but all search engines. If they do it to the big ones, then eventually it will apply to the others as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. All the best!
