Hello All. I just discovered a lot about essential oils. I joined one which is a multi-level-marketing
one.
This (at this time) does not appear to be high pressure. You do not have to spend a certain amount and you just get to buy the oils for wholesale price rather than retail.

I have read reviews that multi-level-marketing plans are no good, but I believe in this one. The oils are high quality and I have seen results using them on my children.

What are your thoughts about this? Has anyone every tried to create a sight that signs a person up for a Multi-level-marketing business (even though they don't have to make it a business)?

Are you doing DoTerra? Creating a website that educates people on essential oils is fine but I'm not sure how you'd link people to your the MLM company to order. I know with Close to My Heart, you have a link where people can order directly. ~Debbi

Hi Debbi, thanks for your answer!
I am not doing 'DoTerra' and I am not familiar with that product. Young living is what I would be doing. As I said to Loes above I may just sell essential oils but I think the YL line is one of the best.

What essential oils do you do and do you like using them?

I sold YL many years ago. I do DoTerra now. They are a spin off of YL from what I understand. I like the oils. I use them myself but don't actively sell.

I really like the oils as well (have not done the DoTerra). My kids love the way the house smells with all different scents now.

MLM is not for everyone and I am not a fan however much would depend on you niche.. I have found with MLM it is very hard work for little returns, I would agree with Moritz and focus on the product first then in time look at bringing others into your network, I do know some people who have done quite well, much depends on having recruiting a very good team, wish you all the best with it

Hey,
I am actually trying to do that with my newest site.
It is still a very young site, so I don't have much traffic yet.

The goal of that site is to help people achieve a healthy lifestyle.
The products I recommend are all from one MLM company.

I am not trying to recruit people for that MLM system yet.
That might come later. At the moment I am creating content. All the posts and pages link to one main article that recommends the products at the end.

Will see how that goes and think about a way to recruit people later down the line.

Hi Moritz, thanks for your answer! That is how I was first thinking of
doing my approach. I want to talk about what essential oils are, explore the science behind it and talk about the biblical roots of the oils (I hope I don't offend anyone with the biblical approach).

This also helps people achieve a healthy lifestyle but I need to ensure my posts are FDA compliant as well.

So I am going to build my site slowly and see what happens and then see if I can get people to join. I want them to join because I believe in the products. But I also may explore a niche of essential oils in general so I don't have to depend as much on the MLM side of it.

Setting aside arguments about MLMs. I see no reason why you couldn't. Basically you could create a site about essential oils and go from there. I would think that you could tie in the business side of it for people who are interested. So, you build your site with the goal of making it an authority on essential oils, sell essential oils to get customers and then can link the business in like a product review of "how to make money with essential oils link" or something to build your network of people interested in the business side.

Just my 2 cents, others may have more experience or know better than I.

Sincerely,

Xin

Thanks Xin! There is so much one can do with essential oils. I hope to achieve what you state. To make my site an authority site. Once I have good content created (and have a good science backing section) then I want to start to get people interested in signing up. Thanks for your answer!

Hmm I don't know about this one. I love essential oils myself but like you, I have also heard a lot of bad things about any MLM campaigns. As long as you aren't going to get hurt in any way by doing it then maybe you can give it a shot. I just never hear anything positive about them, from real users I mean. I see a lot of scams and hype over them but haven't met someone with great, honest results yet.

Thanks Allison! I don't see this as an MLM that could cause me to get hurt. One does not have to do the business side of it at all. You don't even need to join as you can purchase the oils at retail but if you are a member you just get them cheaper. There is no monthly requirement (unless you join the rewards part which is $50.00 a month) but you don't have to join that.

I love the oils and so does my family. I love the aromas and diffusing the different oils throughout the home. Now there is a lot of science behind it.

I have a lot to think about but I have to begin my construction. Thanks again!
