When I am doing research and making use of data or info I have gathered for my post if someone wants to see the whole study I used, is it okay to provide the link to that study? Is this a way to cite the source as well by providing a link to the source?
Also, is it violating any user or copyrights rules by providing links in our posts?

It's absolutely fine to link to other sites or studies. Just make sure to give them credits, for instance "like Company X already stated in their 2017 study" or "as published in Science in June last year". It's wrong to copy large parts of text (quoting is oké, of course), but direct links are a great option.

I love it when bloggers put links to the original, whole studies. It's an extra service to those who want more in dept knowledge than you'll be giving in your post at that particular moment.

It helps the person or company you're referring to as well, because their website traffic goes up and Google thinks they're more relevant if people start linking to them.

Hi BvVugt,
That is great to know. I didn't know I could do this. Another piece of the "website building" solved.
Thanks, johnny.

If linking to the external website is relevant information then yes, I use Wikipedia links all the time when trying to explain something.

Hi Jason,
Interesting you mentioned "Wikipedia". That is actually where I was looking.
It kinda feels like what we do in our posts is to gather information from our research and do a form of a "book report".
We put the info into our own words, style, and point of views.
What do you think, Jason?

Yes that sounds about right. Sometimes we have to send people to a link or at least quote something within our content.

It's not only OK, you should have external links in your posts. https://yoast.com/outbound-links/
