I am not to the point of adding affiliates or anything yet, so how do I respond to someone looking for something to buy from my website until then? I suggested places, but without detail just to be safe... Thank you for any suggestions or help that you can provide.

Have they asked about buying the James Patterson books Tracy? If so why don't you become an Amazon associate and get them to buy the books through your affiliate link. A commission for you is always good. Just a suggestion.

It would be best to just sign up for an affiliate program so that you'll actually be paid when someone buys through your links. If a visitor commented asking for a product suggestion, you can absolutely refer them elsewhere, and there's really no restriction to that... but if you had an affiliate link you'd get paid in the process.

Just so you're aware, some affiliate programs require an established website to be approved, and they may require a sale to be made in the first 90 days. If you don't think you're ready for that exactly, just go at the pace of the training.
