I opened a page within the facebook.com. They demand payment if I want people to see my post. Do you people pay money for your posts you share on your Facebook page?

I'm not quite sure they're demanding payment - they are just showing you the possible results if you boost a post or advertise on other parts of facebook. In my experience, facebook ads is actually a great platform. You can drill down to an incredibly narrow target audience that you know will at least have interest in your niche. Remember all those questions Facebook asks you when you create or update your profile periodically? There's a reason for that other than sharing what you like with friends...you're helping Facebook populate ads with relevant data as well.

There are a lot of good answers below as well, but I'd say the occasional post boost can't hurt when you're trying to grow your page traffic. The pricing is pretty reasonable to at least give it a few tries. Make sure you set up your initial goal to get page follows/likes. If your likes turn into customers, it's a win/win.

Here's a somewhat related posts with a good podcast about Facebook ads. It's not necessarily post boost related, but it gives some good ideas:

as long as you post your articles on your pages or fan pages you have no problem. If you belong to groups you can post articles with permission of the admins.

FB earns money when you boost your articles with advertising--that's what creates value for stockholders.---no you don't have to advertise unless you want to

No, I haven't. I have read here at WA that it's questionable whether or not it brings traffic to your site.

I have had Facebook offer me the option to Boost my post so that more people will see it. Is that what you are talking about? If so, I have never done it either with my direct sales business or with my posts for my website! I just never really have the money to justify doing it.

This is exactly what I mean. and it makes feel like I wasted time creating the page

No, you did not waste time. As you build your followers list on Facebook, your posts will go to them. The boost that they are offering you if you pay for it is to have it sent out to people other than your followers!
