Next week I'm moving my health site domain/niche over to WA, and that is such a broad Niche, so I was going to add different health niches to it under separate pages, like Diabetes, Cancer, OCD, restless leg syndrome, acid reflux....well you get the picture...lol..Would I have to buy a different domain for EACH health Niche? That could get expensive if I do! My main domain name is Everything Health Online, so I want to deal with everything health..planning on going big with it! Could I just add a sub-domain to the main Niche, and still be ranked good in the search engines? Would the https cover the sub-domains as well as the main one? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you! :)

This one is beyond my pay grade and I will have to let someone else tackle it.

Welcome Terry.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
And yes, Matt Cutts is so accessible. Makes me wanna meet him, have coffee, and just chill. haha

Don't be scared of Google. Just follow their rules and algorithm requirements, and you will be fine.

Great success to you! :)

Hey Terry,

Though the following post was published in 2014, I'm betting the pros and cons have not changed one bit: http://elioverbey.com/subdomain-vs-new-domain-better-seo/

Why not use categories instead of a subdomain? That's what Categories are for. Hope this helps you decide.

I was thinking of that! The health Niches I started though all have a different look to them, and a different header, and they have categories of their own, and I think it might be too much..categories within Categories..That's why I wasn't sure about seperate Domains or sub-domains, just because of the different look...I'm planning on it being a massive site, and I have been working on it for awhile under a different server, but when I move it over, just wanted to know if sub-domains would be alright for rankings as it will be quite costly to have all the domains I would have to buy...lol

I have a client who insisted on different headers on different pages and so ... here's what I used: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-header-images/

Why would you say Categories within Categories? Would you not simply use "Diabetes, Cancer, OCD, restless leg syndrome, acid reflux..." as you categories?

Why not setup a restless leg syndrome website and make that your focus instead ... another one for diabetes ... etc. They would have a much better chance of ranking higher than using subdomains ... and ... each subdomain counts as website when it comes to premium member's total websites hosted as part of your fees.

Okay..I'll do the separate Domain for each Niche, and just tie them into my main health site! Thank you! :)

You will be glad you did ... besides, look at the link juice you'll also create when you do that. Anther benefit to separate domains. :-))
