hmmm...Hi Kevin, sometimes it depends on the actual theme chosen. Some themes have a certain template. Have you actually right clicked on the feature picture itself? and does it have a small pop up with the edits on it?

When I had the same problem, I would re-edit that same picture again in my PC (to a smaller size)...replace the one in wordpress.

However, someone else may have a better answer for you.

I couldn't seem to edit the picture at all. I also had trouble adding pictures into the content creator in WA. When I would try to add a picture it would come in always at the top and sometimes delete my other pictures. If I'm using a picture from the free ones provided in the content creator I don't know how to download them...unless this can be done later in WordPress? I'll check on this and let you know. Thanks a lot!

It seems to have worked with the editing for pixel #. I also had to reduce the length of the title I gave the pictures. Thanks a lot, I was feeling very stuck!

Shucks, thats great news. I ended up changing my theme again and only just found out that there is an optimization button in wordpress all in one seo, to make all my pictures, much clearer. The things we learn as we make mistakes :)

Hi Kevin.

Are you talking about the featured image on the right-hand side of the WordPress editor? I set mine there too, but I need to delete it from my post or two images show up. It could be my theme.

And once you've published it to Wordpress, I don't think site content will help you. You can't republish.

Sometimes I have to resize my images because they're just too big. I keep everything smaller than 1000 px. Maybe this will help you. I think it's a theme issue though...

Good luck,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne, yes, on of the things I did was set up a featured image. After I saved it my pictures become squished looking. I will try resizing them. I'm so new to this I'm not sure how to add a picture in WordPress (can only do from site content in WA). I spent a long time on this post and created one of the graphics myself and also had an affiliate link and also a picture from the free ones in the site content which isn't showing up in the WordPress editor. Can you download pictures from the content center do you know? I think there are quite a few things I'll have to do to salvage this post. But, this is how you learn. Thanks for the help! :)

I was able to resize the images and add them back in, worked like a charm after editing the length of the file name as well. Still not sure how to download pictures from the site content cache of free pictures, and I haven't tried setting one as a featured image since it makes me too nervous yet, but I will try when I go back at this. Appreciate the time you took to help me, it worked great and meant a lot!

Yay, glad it worked! It's a little trickier to get a pic off of site content to WordPress if you've already published. I've done it by adding it to a blank article page, then dragging and dropping on my desktop, then dragging it into WordPress, lol.

It's a lot easier to find the same pic on Pixabay.com, Pexels.com, or pngtree.com These are a few of the free image sites you can use online.

To set the featured image while in Wordpress, go to the right-hand side of the page where it says "Featured Image". Click on it and your media file will open. Click on the image you want (they uploaded when you published from site content) and don't forget to add an alt text. If you didn't publish an article with any images, then find one you like, download it, and just drag it onto your article. It will immediately go into your media file and in your article.

Is this making sense? lol

Let me know if I can help any more...

Cheers,
Suzanne

Which is a better fit for a first niche, process instruments/equipment used in industrial engineering applications, or musical gear like foot pedals, cables, etc? I am a mechan

Hi Kevin & Happy New Year!

Good question about choosing the right niche for yourself to work on while building an on-line biz to success -- it's not an either or type of answer -- it's which one would work best for you to success? ....

....and in this case, it means a first niche that (preferably) you're already very knowledgeable about and can write/blog content extensively in-depth over an extended period of time to build your audience following & interest --

... here's a WA member post which might help you in your decision-making process as well -- all the best:

Thanks Keishalina! This was helpful. I choose my first niche!

... that's wonderful! ... congratulations and you're well on your way to on-line biz success....

all the best for 2019, cheerio .... ⭐️🎈⭐️

That’s a tough one. Have you done any research regarding ways to monetize either? Which do you feel you can produce more content for?

Yes, I researched both and found both to be viable...which made it difficult to choose. In the end I went with content my first business passion, engineering, and am in the technical equipment and I instruments niche. Thanks for the input!

Happy to help.
