Trying To Understand Better!

OK may just be reaching out kind of far here but hey if I don't, I may never know!!! We all love being a part of Wealthy Affiliate not only for the platform benefits but the people here! This team is so helpful and optimistic to the point where it makes you as a person feel more comfortable and reach for goals you may not have on your own.

With that being said I still find myself struggling with wrapping my head around the ins and outs of the plug-ins and exactly how the mechanic's work. I mean when you are asked to copy and paste an HTML code between the header and footer of website how is this done and what does it mean?

What exactly does it mean when someone says they use "BLOCK EDITOR"? I mean how does it even work? How do you use different themes or colored text? Did I bite off more than I can chew? I seem to have trouble with switching to GA4 for the longest time! I did finally achieve that after a ton of wasted time and coming down on myself for not getting it the first time especially as easy as the course made it sound!

I know the community will be willing to help me but sometimes I may not know exactly how to ask the right questions!! When I finally have enough guts to just ask then I worry do I sound incompetent to the pros. or am I asking it correctly? Sometimes it's like I wish it was like school where I simply could raise my hand and have the instructor walk over and actually put eyes on it. I feel like I am sometime bugging Site Support because of course they correct the issue promptly, but I want to know what I did and how?

Has anyone else have these issues and how did you learn this whole process? I want to be the best and learn how to help people like some other members on here! I know I can't be the only one or at least I hope I am not alone on this. My goal is to be as good as some members I consider to mentors on here so I can progress at a quicker pace than I am.

I want to close out this blog with saying I do love it here and I have learned so much through this journey and I hope to continue learning! It has been and I am certain it will continue to be a lot of ups and downs but I will not give up. Thank you for reading and I will definitely look forward to any advice.

Oh, Kevin, I SOOOOOOOO resonate with what you've shared!
I feel like, sure, I'm getting better at my articles having my voice in them...but the technical stuff with Google Analytics, and anything beyond what's easily visible to the lay eyes in WordPress, and/ anything else at all that's not basic human English (I know that's very relative, but I guess you feel me!) - I do NOT get!

My way around this has been my private message exchanges with the SiteSupport guys!

They're like God for me - I can't see them, I don't know who the hell they are, I only reach out to them when I need them & only to ask for something, I tell them I no nothing, & then they do their God-thing and solve my problem! That's pretty much the definition of God, ain't it?! Actually, they do one better - they solve whatever I take to them! LMAO!

That's what I do. And then I also just ask whatever I'm struggling with by creating a question for it on my profile page - and someone or the other, or more like some 4-5 others, respond to me & help me out :)

I've thrown out the thought that this or that question might sound dumb/ easy - I've instead taken to the narrative that I'm a "newbie" in this space, and of course, I won't know!

Hope this loooooong answer adds to your perspective :)

hang in there! believe me, you are not alone in your challenges with technology and the training. what seems difficult, clumsy, almost impossible at times does get easier, like any new skill or talent you are trying to master. keep at it! we have your back ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I was also a bit skeptical of Block Editor at first as it was a learning curve from the classic. But it does get easier to use with practice. As the other have said, it's normal to feel stuck sometimes. Keep asking questions and hit that magnifying glass at the top. There's always an answer somewhere here.

Hi Kevin...don't get frustrated. At one point or another, we all had (have) many of the same questions.

It's best to ask single subject-specific questions to learn.

The best place to get good answers is to click on the magnifying glass and type in keywords to your question (there is also a ton of recorded expert classes) or go to chat for live real-time answers and of course, you raise a question to the community (via the Ask a Question feature under the help tab... or Site Support if needed.

Best of luck!

-Mike

Hi Kevin and Son,

It looks like you're getting a lot of positive answers under this blog. Just do what a lot of others are saying and take it slow step by step. After all, WA really is a place to learn and helping each other reach success in a positive way.
