Getting A Little Personal!

So, we have been a part of the WA world for a little over 3 months now. So, I feel like this is a pretty close and helpful community thus far. Kevin and Son started our journey and created Outdoor Activities to try to reach as many people as possible. Well, lately I have been struggling to grasp some of this knowledge because it is so new to me. I was forced into doing something outside of my normal skill which has always been construction. Well as most know that read my blogs know my son Landon is struggling with his new journey at school. He comes home more often than not sad and just seems down. He wants to go and just be alone or sleep, his motivation is getting lower. Well yesterday we went to talk to a counselor to see what we can do to raise his spirits (unfortunately mom couldn't attend due to work). He mentioned in the meeting that he loved our idea, and it made him feel good to help others. The counselor said that is a wonderful trait to have for an 11-year-old. She also mentioned depression is peaking with the younger generation due to all the negativity going around in the world these days. We all hate seeing our young ones down and sad which now makes me want to do even more on here to reach out and help as many people as possible. This would make him happy and lift his spirits so "DADDY" is going to crack down and make this become his reality. I think this will be a good way to expand on our NICHE a little more and go into helping lift spirits with our outdoor activities theme. My fellow WAer's can leave any thoughts good or bad because you can't succeed unless you have some bad input to grow from. To all our reading community please have a blessed evening and see you all tomorrow!

I am glad to see that you are taking such an interest in your son. Hopefully, the two of you can find a way to help him reach the goals he has set for himself. I will keep you in my prayers to find the way that works best for both of you.

Hi Kevin, I do hope Landon isn`t getting bullied at school as often, this may be the case. Just spend as much time with him doing the things you enjoy together. I find that when you play with children, you have to get down on their level, which means acting stupid but, I enjoy that as it takes me back to my childhood. Here`s a thought, why not build a garden fort together and let him design it, great outdoor activity.

You have a great weekend, take care.

He says he isn't being bullied but he dont always open up to us with that stuff. He says he hates bullies and that brings me to the problem you won't stand up for himself because he thinks that makes him a bully.

Hi Kevin, maybe some self-defence classes, this way he can meet new friends and gain knowledge at the same time. I remember doing self-defence and thoroughly enjoying it as a child. Once the knowledge is installed into the mind, it will be a natural reaction to defend without thinking about it. I was bullied at school, that is why my parents sent me.

I took Tae Kwon Do also but he dont want to try that Either so I don't know.

Well, whatever you decide, I hope it all works out for you.

Children need attention to them whenever they are awake. They express their feelings with noise since they are baby. Ignore it, accumulate sadness in their mind. Quite a sad thing to say, we are busy and not aware of it.
You have an excellent idea to do the best for every child. Keep up.

Sounds like a fantastic plan to me Kevin!

I'm sorry to hear that Landon is having a hard time at school at the moment, all the negative aspects in the world right now are making it a difficult place to grow up in...

I'm hoping that by getting him more involved in outdoor activities and your business will help to eliminate the sadness he is currently feeling..

Go for it my friend and have a great start to the weekend!

Kevin and Son, I have mention during my blogs about mental health. Yes I am just a psychology student but I also have bipolar combination of 1 and 2 plus have PTSD and to boot I have Traumatic Brain Injury.

When I was growing up the signs were all there and no one pay any attention to me. I was a typical teenager.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying anything, but just listen to your son he will tell you if anything is wrong. And you will know what to do, trust me you will.

Ask him about school but let him tell you. I can tell you what it could be. With all that is going on he is most likely worried and scared. He wouldn't be normal if he wasn't.

Let me ask you, you made mention in your blog that Landon is struggling in his journey. Why is this a new school for him or is he having problems at school.

I understand these questions might be bothering to you but these are the hard questions that you need to ask. And knowingly you are a good father like your wife is a good mother. That is not even in question.

I don't know what you niche is but do something fun with him and then incorporate in your niche somehow. Since you like to help others

Please don't take anything that I have said the wrong way. I am only trying to help that's all. If I have offend you in anyway please forgive me that is not my intentions at all.

Mary
