I would like to know what the average person earns in their first year here at WA. I am not asking because I am going to use that as a personal goal or anything. I am asking becau

A smart question, demand a smart answer, I love this community :)

Like Hamlet said "That is THE Question". But as you know WA is also called Wealthy Affiliate University". So, would you ask a student of an unviverity what his avarage income is?
Statistics say that 98% of the people trying to make money online fail!
I don't know how many fail here at WA, even if there are a few percent less than the avarage, there are or have been a lot of members here at WA who failed.
The main two reason why people fail is a lack of patience and perseverence. Perhaps this post of mine gives you some more information of why people fail: http://mybestinternetmarketingtools.com/10-internet-marketing-mistakes-why-so-many-fail/
But coming back to your question.
I have a more than decent income as marketing and communication consultant. I have some internet revenues, certainly not enough to live from. But the experience I gained here at WA gives me so much in my business, that I have a large increse of my income in the last 2 years. So even if not direct through affiliate marketing, this is due to what I've learned here and in other courses.
This example shows you also, that it is difficult to talk about average income stats.

Hi Kevin.

I agree with you in a lot of respects about disclosure of earnings from the system, however, one of the key indicators I use in deciding whether something is a scam or not is whether the company / opportunity I'm looking at is promising unrealistic income levels. If you have ever watched the "Field of Dreams" movie with Kevin Costner, the faith in 'if you build it they will come' mentality is the key to being successful.

True passion about what you are doing makes money irrelevant. You do something because you believe in it and the universe will give you what you need. If that is an income of 50k or 500k is irrelevant. It is one of the most difficult lessons to learn, having faith in your own ability to create what you need.

I know I still go and check how well I'm doing and look at the zero sales, feel a little disappointed, then keep building. I know it will happen! As one of my mentors early in my life said "Success is 99% perspiration and 1% luck".

All the very best to you in your struggle and know we are all behind you!

That's the WA difference.

This is a good discussion to have because it recognises the 'elephant in the room'!

Phil

Thanks Phil. That is exactly what I needed to hear. I say those things to myself all the time, but it is so nice to hear them from someone else. Of course money would be nice as well.

I find that the universe always gives me what I need, not always what I want. I agree, some extra money would be nice!

Hey Kevin! Here is a recent post on just this discussion from some senior members: http://bit.ly/Z6nojf

Perhaps I will overlap what others have said, but that's a very difficult question to answer. As in any job, the first thing you want to know is how much money will I make. You will be given an amount and decide if that's the job for you. However, in any type of sales, it depends on your ability and the amount of work you put in and then sometimes you can still hit a ceiling. WA is something beyond that yet there are many variables. How much time are you willing to spend? What knowledge level do you come in with (some have a lot and earn right away). I've had a learning curve. What is your niche and is it one that people are interested in. Does it deal with high ticket items. Are you active in social media (which is important). The list just goes on.

I understand your concern being a single dad and only you can decide if this is something that is right for you. IMHO, the things you accomplished as a young man says a lot about your ability and ambition and I think the sky could be the limit for you with time and energy.

Sorry, I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but I think the answer to this is somewhat like grabbing jello.

Hi Kevin. I've seen this question come up a number of times. However, most members won't disclose their personal income but may share that they're making a full-time or part-time income (like myself). It's typical in our society (I'm in Canada) that we don't even share how much we make an hour at our jobs

I realize that seeing how much others make from their online work is always encouraging and many of us would like to know; however, I believe that is a personal and private matter and therefore will likely not be shared by many.

One thing I've noted in my 20 months at WA is that we bring with us the believe that success is only counted in dollars. And the scams out there don't help because they always make wild promises of making a lot of money if you invest in their system. And we know that rarely happens. But that's also not something you see at WA because we're building long-term businesses and shouldn't need screen shots of money made (who knows if they're accurate anyways).

I've embarked on a long-term project that I believe is going to allow me to work full-time from home. And the website I'm creating to compliment it is based on what I'm learning here. Will I disclose how much I make from that? No, because, again, that is a personal matter for myself and my family (and I have two kids hitting university so you know I need to be serious about my online work).

Does this answer your question and the comments I see below? Again, no, but I strongly believe that we will get out of our businesses what we put into it. And if working from home full-time is your goal then WA will help with that. But monetary success will be defined differently for each of us based on our needs and circumstances.

I apologize to those who wanted numbers but I haven't even told my wife yet how much I got paid from WA yesterday.

I agree. I was actually wondering the exact same thing. I know it would likely depend on how much traffic each individual's website or sites is generating, but also what are the sites promoting? The money earned by those who are promoting memberships to WA is probably quite different than those who are doing affiliate stuff and then the money that is earned would also vary as to those who are doing both affiliate AND promoting WA. Does that make sense? In other words, maybe the ones who are promoting both WA and doing affiliate work and have a good traffic flow would be earning a much higher income on average than someone who is new to this and will only be doing affiliate stuff and has not yet gotten the rankings on the search engines because of being too new. Right or am I wrong?? Also, I think it's going to vary by how interesting the content is on each individual's website and how much work each person puts into their site. Also, if they have more than one site that is doing well then they will or should be earning alot more than someone with just one site and not great traffic. OMG! The variables are many!! Just my thoughts......

Hi Roxanne! -

Of course you are right!

There are many variables -- I really can't understand anyone wanting to waste their brain power on this question!

I for one absolutely love everything about WA - and I certainly don't feel comfortable with this discussion.

It is WRONG just to concentrate on money like this.

Ask your questions in private - if you need that kind of information.

I wonder if Kevin - has private messaged Kyle and Carson yet - or any of the really successful people here.

In my view, Kevin is simply bringing up a fair topic of discussion. Not that anyone needs to divulge exact numbers, however, I think it gives hope and motivation to the newcomers to get a sense of how many people are making a full-time or part-time living from WA. Although money is certainly not the be-all and end-all, everybody has bills to pay, so the topic of money is an important issue by default. I didn't get the sense that Kevin is concentrating on the money aspect of WA, just wants it to become a PART of the discussion.

I agree, and am surprised by some responses about it being 'wrong'. I find it laughable as this is meant to a be a transparent process we can all learn from and let's be honest, everyone here would have signed to make income online.

All of that is true but it is nice to know one is in the right place. I wonder what is the success to failure rate in WA?

That's subjective @davyrobot. It's a valid question. There are literally 100's of thousands of WA's on this site. It's obvious the Founders have an excellent platform here and by doing the simple math are quite successful financially. Asking each of them for their P&L Statement would be inappropriate. That is not what @Kevin153 even suggested in this thread. He merely asked this question for the benefit of others, and wanted to offer up some "hope", "potential" to all the head bangers out there spending time and money in possibly an unexpectedly unfruitful venture... over too long of a period of time. So YES time invested is $, and $ is what attracted you and I as well as 100's of thousands of followers to this site called WEALTHY Affiliates". So kudos to you @Kevin153, unfortunately your query did not generate results. I'm a starter and that in fact is one of the many due diligent searches I have made which led me to this thread.

It feels - horrible!

Don't you think this is a little personal Kevin?

This is a great discussion subject, Kevin. As a new member of WA, I appreciate you bringing it up.

I appreciate Kevin's question because the bottom line is $
