Progress Update : 8th July 2018

This week was again dominated by the need to complete a client project (the same one) in time for a review meeting with said client on Friday morning.

The good news is that went well but it has left me with little time to catch up on my remaining goals for this month.

The good news is that they're my goals so it's up to me how bad to feel about not meeting them! The truth is, my day job has to come first as that currently pays the bills and I'm okay with that. It might be challenging at times, but I do love what I do.

So, let's see how I did.

This month's goals

I set myself the following goals to hit by July 10th:

  • Post at least 4 blog posts to my niche website
  • Post at least 2 blog posts to my Bootcamp website
  • For my WA rank to drop from 35 but stay within 200
  • Keep posting to social media every day for my niche site branding
  • Not make any goals regarding WA blog posts. I'll do these if I have the time. :)

Goal Progress

  • I did actually manage to write a post for my niche website this weekend so I've made a bit more progress! (2 / 4 done)
  • I'd already written the two posts for my bootcamp website last week. Hooray! (2 / 2 done)
  • I've carried on helping here and there as my time has permitted but my WA interaction has been way down compared to previous weeks (sorry guys).
  • I've managed to keep up my social media posting (well, Twitter anyway) and seen a further increase in followers as a result.
  • Other than this review post, I've not had chance to write anything new for my WA blog this week.

Review of my progress this week

Niche Website - Create 3 more content posts

I managed to write one post this weekend to further my niche website goals. I've not publicized it as yet so there's been no visitors to it so far.

My aim is to publish another post within the next few days before the 10th July milestone that ends this round of goals.

It would be great if I manage to publish two but I doubt that's going to happen as I've got further client work to complete.

Bootcamp website

After a positive start to the bootcamp website, I feel a little down that I've not been able to write anything new for it. I'm excited about the project but time hasn't been on my site.

I've also been somewhat discouraged by seeing some awesome bootcamp sites that other WA members have created and left wondering if I could hope to match their amazing presentation and content.

My direction is very different to other people's so I'm sure there's still room for my contribution to the making money niche. I guess I just worry that my direction isn't going to be as successful as other people's.

WA Rank

I've done my best to keep welcoming people and help out here and there throughout the week but I haven't had the time to spend much time in Live Chat. I'm sure there'll be an impact on my activity graphs but I have too much content to catch up on right now.

Catching up will feature quite heavily in my next round of goals so I'd like to apologize in advance if you don't see much of me in the coming week!

As I said in my last progress review, I'll be abandoning this aspect of my goals as it doesn't really feature very highly on my list of priorities (especially with a third baby in the mix that I'll mention shortly).

Post to social media every day

In spite of being so pushed for time this week, I've still managed to post to Twitter most of the days and I've seen a modest increase of followers again.

I'm hoping that this will result in a corresponding positive response when I manage to promote my new niche website post in the coming week.

The 28-day summary (which more or less coincides with this round of goals is encouraging - green across the board for my new Twitter account. :)

Extras

A second niche website (three with the bootcamp site)

I've dusted off a mothballed site from a few years ago that I want to start working on as my second niche website. With my bootcamp site, that makes three sites that I'm developing content for concurrently. Crazy? Probably but I realised that I really wanted to work on it as it could be a high-value niche and it's a subject that interests me almost as much as my main niche website.

If I'm honest, my primary niche website isn't promoting very high-value items so the ROI is going to be modest at best.

Some of you will think I'm foolish taking this route to affiliate success but my mind jumps around a great deal (which is why I have to implement so many productivity hacks). Having three totally different sites is actually beneficial to me as it will stop me getting bored with just one and keep me moving forwards.

Goals for the coming week

As this round of goals ends on the 10th, I'll be setting new goals then.

I hope to publish at least one new post to my niche websites before then though.

Wow, that's a lot of goals. Having a full-time day job included, is also impressive. I was so impressed I'm writing some goals myself and will post them. Just so I can't back out. Thank you for the wisdom.

Awesome! :)

That's exactly why I've been posting mine! :D

By publicly posting my goals and holding myself accountable, it has really helped me to achieve them.

Good goals Keep up the good work

Thanks, Clellie!
I've discovered that the key to completing goals is reviewing them regularly so I get stuff done... it seems to be working so far. :)

Wishing you all the very best!

Thanks Paul. :)

I admire your organization! I am working on my lack of organization currently.
Sandy

Oh, don't mistake me for a naturally organized person! :)

I've had to implement all sorts of life hacks to keep me moving forwards (thanks in large part to some of the books I read - I just wrote a review of three of them in my latest post).

I will review the post,
your friend Sandy

You're quite progressive in your work Phil!

Progressive is an interesting way to put it.
But as long as I am moving forwards, it's all good! :D
