Wishlist Ads- Let's See If It Works
Ha! I have never truly liked advertisements running down the sidebar of my spiritual website. I do know that I want some sort of ads, but didn't like what was offered and just having products lining up down the side. And, I truly cannot stand them inside the content (as my content does not lend itself to be broken up with ads). Or, should I say, I don't like the look! If I am reading a motivational story, then I don't wish to be bombarded with ads. My website is a haven from the outside world when reading the content.
Anyway, I have decided to insert images in my widgets on the sidebar and have them link to an advertisement URL. I used one of my banner images that I was using to promote Wealthy Affiliate that was fun and quirky to redesign for an Amazon ad.
I created a Public Wishlist on my Amazon account for my website and dropped any of the products that I had wanted in my sidebar into the Wishlist instead. Then, I linked to the public wishlist. I think it looks neater and much more fun for my site.
I am a spiritual website and this type of advertising just adds a bit more class to the site. My main profit doesn't come from sidebar ads, but from the service I offer on the site. So, this just adds an element of unique advertising that I can be happy about.
I decided to do this with some of the other advertisement I like to have on the sidebar as well. I shall see if this keeps people coming back and clicking or a turn-off. My Google Analytics and advertising stats will be viewed in over-time to see how it is working.
Wishlist Ads- we shall see if they work! I like them myself, I hope others do as well!

Exactly Kerri. I shared your thoughts and did the same, but of course not with such an terrific image. So for me it didn't work.
