So, I've been doing a lot of keyword searches and have noticed that huge quantities of monthly searches are done with typos or completely grammatically incorrect phrases. Now,
I wouldn't do this Keri. While typos are common with browsers, Google automatically corrects and/or suggests the correct phrase/keyword.
And even keywords that are wrongly typed still provide the same if not similar search results meaning you can get visitors who look for your keyword but type it incorrectly.
The only time I would recommend adding typos is if you're doing paid advertising campaigns where you would have to provide a whole list of keywords you want your ad to appear for. In that area, it does make sense to do it, but not from an SEO standpoint.
VitalityG,
I had a funny feeling that Google would wiggle its way in there.... I appreciate your input.
It happens all the time. I would never put typos in my content, but I would in my SEO keywords. I think it broadens your search reach.
Thanks....I was concerned that it would have some negative reaction with Google.....that system seems to be rather smart. I appreciate the feedback keldubry.
Hey Keri, I agree with David, you only miss 100% of the shots you don't take. if it's a miss correct it and try again. Probably wouldn't hurt to see what happens, if no positive results , change it back, and let us know it didn't work but if it works, share it with the rest of us..every little bit helps... Good luck!!
Jim
I can't see why you can't give it a try and see what happens, I've also noticed these, maybe it's the way to go... Let me know what happens if you decide to try them
It's not recommended to use these typo keywords on your site. Especially if you need to use the keywords in your title, it's not going to look good on your end if you used typo keywords in your title.
I understand people make typos when searching, I do it too. But if a visitor gets to your site and sees typos in the title of posts and in the content, they may not take it seriously and just leave your site.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, but I was referring to the SEO keyword field, not the text in the pages or posts. I appreciate the reply though.
I personally won't use misspelled words or nonsensical phrases in my articles nor will I read articles written that way. Just my personal preference :)

Does anyone know how to add a "subscribe here" or "sign up here" free text box so that folks can add their email addresses? Is it a widget or plug in?
Any feedback is app
there's a few ways of doing it. You can:
1) use Contact Form 7 plugin and create your own form to add to your widgets - you will have to collect each individual address yourself
2) sign up for Google Feedburner - people who subscribes will get an email notification of each post your publish automatically
3) mail chimp - you can sign up for a free account and get 2000 free subscribers and create your own email campaign
Hope this helps!
