With so much happening in our daily lives each an every day, it is no wonder
that a person can become anxious and depressed! It happens to many people
and very often is a serious threat to their overall well-being, if not handled
properly.

Here are 10 ways to help alleviate this problem without having to take medication, which is some cases, causes more damage, than good.

1. Limit time on social media (positive and negative)
- Used as a casual tool, results are usually positive
- Used as a means to track activity of others as a means of comparing
yourself is a negative as it often promotes jealous behavior and
serves to lower self-esteem

2. Live your own Life
- Remember that you were not put on the earth to please others all
the time. "Me" time is so important that it should NOT be wasted by
always catering to the wishes of others.
- By following this thought process, your demeanor will be well
regulated so that you can handle situations better by being in
the right frame of mind.

3. Write it out. Keeping a diary is a great tool to utilize, as many people
cannot verbalize their feelings, but can write it down, usually with
ease.

4. STOP comparing yourself to others. Your own self-worth is a very
significant factor in preventing anxiety and depression to take
hold. You would be wise to realize that people are NOT always
what they seem. In fact, they may be in a WORSE situation than you,
but can hide it better.

5. The "B" range vitamins and high quality Fish Oil Supplements are
great mood stabilizers. Severe mood swings are detrimental to
a person's health.

6. Talk to people, any people. Studies have shown that interaction
with others has a positive effect on combating feelings of
loneliness and despair. Even talking to strangers has been
known to help alleviate the feeling that "nobody loves me or
nobody cares!"

7. Pick a goal - any goal. Work on it daily, little by little, to create
a sense of accomplishment that works to answer the question
of why you should try.

8. Read about spirituality and/or astronomy. This gives one a
prospective of the Universe. The big, cosmic picture of how
it works and helps to deal with the enormity and complexity
of the Universe. This may help to take "our little lives" less
seriously.

9. Experience the peacefulness associated with quiet time.
Take time for yourself whether by reading a book, prayer
or even a warm bath, that usually brings about a more relaxed
state of mind and being. This time out helps to keep the daily
difficulties and petty squabbles of life that get you down, to
a minimum.

10. Promote your own HAPPINESS by working to achieve a
peaceful state of mind. This can be acquired by willingly taking a hard look at your life, cut out the bad habits, bad people and
change your internal expectations and behavior. Remember,
"Rome wasn't built in a day!" Just relax and take it easy. Your
task is NOT to "Save the Planet or the World!" Life is too short!
Why stress out? After all, your short time here on Planet Earth is
for YOU to enjoy and savor!

Relevant quotes are presented to support the above conclusions:

"Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety
and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It
lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment."
-Grenville Kleiser

"Happiness doesn't depend on any external conditions, it is governed by
our mental attitude." -Dale Carnegie

"The secret of happiness is something to do." -John Burroughs

In summary, there are many tools to assist people with who suffer from
these mental conditions or for those most likely to acquire them. Prevention
is the key and the suggestions listed above, hopefully, will be of benefit to someone. I sincerely hope so! Best wishes for continued Excellent Health!!

Until next time..........................................................

Great points ken. Sometimes it seems you can't fit all that in a day. But if you take it slow, it will work moment by moment.

Like it, thanks, Ken

Hey Michael,
Thanks for the comments,
Ken

Thanks Michael.

Thank you for the precious advice Kenneth, I second all of the above. And of course, not to forget, if you can, try having a good Whole hearted laugh every day. Apparently laughing relaxes your jaw muscles and is ideal antidote if you have tendency to escalate unstraightforward situation into worry and stress.
Giulia :)

Hey Giulia,
