How many affiliate links should I put in each post?

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well, I am on my level 3 training and am in the process off joining up to affiliate programs.

I would like to know, how many links should I put in each piece of content of let’s say a thousand words or so? I know I should not put too many as otherwise google will penalise my site.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Kenny

I normally add 3 maximum

I hit Robert's minimum threshold. I would say 3 to 5!

I agree with Boomer.

Tried and True

The number depends on how you can work them in smoothly - without overwhelming your readers.

If they think the whole post is nothing but an attempt to sell instead of an attempt to inform, then you may get some negative feedback.

I have some posts that show as many as 10 to 15 affiliate links. I have some posts that show none.

2 or 3 depending on the length of content and number of non-affiliate links.

Hey Kenny, good question; probably 3-5 affiliate links. My rule of thumb is keep it simple and do not overwhelm the potential customer. Best Regards, George

No more than 3 if it is a 1000+ word post and it is promoting one product.

If you are promoting more than one product on the page do no more than 2 per product (a text link and in picture link).

It is important to remember that an affiliate marketing website should have like 60-65% content that is only information and 35-40% content that contain affiliate links.

You website is to provide help, not to sell to people. I know that may sound strange but that is what the Google Guidelines says and what Kyle teaches.

To know more about the Google Guidelines and how to write affiliate marketing content that ranks, check out the below tutorial.

I was just thinking to myself about this topic yesterday and was wondering how much content versus affiliate products my site should have. When you give those percentages, are you saying 60-65% of the articles on our site should contain no affiliate links at all and just be informational for the reader or that 60-65% of each article should be just content with a few affiliate links?

60-65% of the articles on our site should contain no affiliate links at all and just be informational for the reader. You would then use only internal links on these pages, if relevant, and link back to the actual pages and posts that have the affiliate links.

Thank you for explaining. That is great information to know.

My pleasure.

First, Kenny, how many different products are you mentioning on the post?

Do go above 5 like others have mentioned. Make sure you make them nofollow

Thanks. How do I make them no follow. I’m sure there was previous trading on it lol

Take a look at the image attached.
That will tell search engines not to follow the link.

Hi Kenny,

the advice was not more than 5

Kenny,
I tend to put three in.
