Hello,
I would use an FTP client (FileZilla) to take a backup...
Then you make a connection with other credentials (click details - where you normally click "login now" in site manager).
And then copy the whole httpdocs folder to your local computer and then to your Dropbox.
I think you will not have any access problems when you do it like that.

It is a long time since I used Filezilla and I had forgotten all about it as an option!
A bit of a worry that the backup download won't work though, and I don't see anyway of access the permissions to correct it.

Yes, sorry it worked well. As I said I have used FileZilla before on other site that I have hosted elsewhere but had forgotten all about it!
It was so easy, just downloaded, installed, connected to my ftp site and used uname/password from the details page and once I figured out the FZ interface it all went as expected.
Amazing what you can achieve with the right tools.
Though I still think the normal backup should work and we need to have the permissions sorted out.

I am glad you have your backup and indeed the regular backup provided should work, you can always open a ticket at support for this if you want...
But I use since the beginning FileZilla, for me it is easier to work with...

Level 2 training I set up my domain specific email address and it worked fine. Later on decided I did not want to have to login to Webmail all the time to check it so added a Ne
OK, just deleted the new account again, recreated the forward account (to a different gmail address this time) and it worked straight away! Go figure? I think I will leave it as it is now. I have a couple of gmail accounts and it really doesn't matter which one I forward them to as I will be filtering them anyway.

I think that Keith did what we were instructed to do. If we created it as a webmail account and want to change it to a forwarded account, we are supposed to delete it. Then click "forward" and create it under there using the same email address. BTW, I am having the same problem. My forwarded email account was not forwarding yesterday. My emails didn't bounce, but didn't get returned. I final deleted the forwarded account and created a new email with the same address, and through webmail, the multitude of lost emails showed up on WA webmail.
I'd love to know how to get that email to forward properly.
Same here. Forwarding is not working. Also, sometimes I cannot login into my webmail account at all. And lots of emails does not reach my inbox. Email functionality is the only thing that lacks here at WA!
I did that yesterday and it failed, but maybe it was a glitch that's been fixed. I'll try again now, thanks!

Hello...yes, guess you missed it in the training. You have to start somewhere. I have heard anywhere from 500-800 words. I don't concentrate on that though. Just Post what you have and keep writing. Each page will climb the Google rank and soon your site will be the authority in your niche. Get your first one done and Post for us to Comment. Then, just keep going!

Bought domain name on Hostgator yesterday (already have account with them). Added WA DNS servers but can't access the site today , hostgator keeps returning error page saying up
Please give Website info for Domain you bought so that we can see if Website opens for us. It can take more time for it to work, but for me it usually does not take long for the move to take place and my Website open for me in WordPress or when I Click on Web Address, but I use NameCheap although that should not make a difference. So again please give Website info so we can see if it opens for us.

Have you bought a Domain and put in your WA DNS at wherever you bought your domain at, and now can't Log in to your account that has the domain you own, or are just using WA's Free Siterubix.
I bought a domain and changed my DNS servers to point to WA then I moved the site....I still can't open the site but I think I need to wait a while longer because apparently it could take up to 48 hours
Shannan, You are right. It can take that long. I guess I was lucky it did not take that long for me. If everything was done correctly, and wherever you bought your Domain from does things right, I hope you have access soon to your bought Domain!
