What does 'trust' mean to YOU? ...

The word trust has come up on the Wealthy Affiliate platform a number of times in relation to website ranking by search engines and recently in response to a post on 'fake news," as well as, simply a random comment on Live Chat ...

Yabut -- what exactly is trust?

The are various definitions available -- the internet under the auspices of social sciences defines it this way, "where one party trusts another is a measure of belief in the honesty, fairness, or benevolence of another party."

How do you like that meaning of 'trust?'

Is trust a quantifiable commodity that can be priced or costed out for the buy-sell marketplace?

During my time in securities studies, trust was considered an 'intangible asset.'

An intangible asset is one that is not quantifiable.

Yet, it is considered an asset as it is qualifiable.

Ah yes, a thing of Quality!

Back in the last century, when brick and mortar businesses abounded and would display their shingles on front saying that they've been in operation for hundreds of years.

This is based upon pride of inter-generational ownership where business would be passed on from one generation onto another within the same family.

Reputation & credibility of the company were paramount to a good, thriving business.

Once a reputation was tarnished, for whatever reason, the business would be at an end.

Well, does that hold true today?
