What does the word 'like' mean or signify for you?

On the Wealthy Affiliate Platform, we have a function of 'like.'

Some would take it to have a meaning of 'to regard something in a favourable way' --

For instance, the something could be in reference to a comment, or a reply, or blog posting enjoyed by the reader.

From another perspective, it could also simply mean a sign of appreciation or an expression of thanks.

Some see 'like' as a thumbs up denoting 'yes' or perhaps, 'agree!'

What meaning or significance, if any, does the 'like' function have for you?

What is your opinion or thought about the 'like?'

Do you use it on this platform? ... or remember to use it? ...

T H A N K Y O U ! ! !

Thanks kindly for your attention & interest -- thoughtful comments and 'likes' are welcomed here! ......

Enjoy a beautiful, positively sunny Sunday! ...

All the best for every success, cheerio... :)

However, for your question, I do LIKE what you write in the sincerest way. You produce posts that make me think and then learn. I LIKE your posts because they satisfy and stretch my curiosity. I believe it is intended to show support. I have been reminded by those who have been here longer than I that it is important to click the "likes" on posts we read. I'm learning. It's a good idea.

Hi Fran -- wonderful to hear from you & appreciate your learned reply ... yes, it's a nice positive 'to do' as a help within the community -- makes people feel better & gives a lil' boost in confidence especially when the going gets a lil' tough...

.... all the best, cheerio... ๐Ÿ˜Š

I use the like button as long as I don't totally disagree with the blog or comment.

super! ... cheerio... ๐Ÿ˜Š

To me the like function is used to mean I support the content and/or am in agreement with the blog.

Delightful to hear from you Pedro! ... hope everything is going well for you? ... thanks kindly for your reply, cheerio.. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think that it can mean more than one thing. I read an article about a woman who had lost a loved one. I liked it to show her that she was heard and that she was not alone in that feeling of lose. I use it to show I agree and I use it to show that I am in favor of something. I really has kind of a floating meaning, at least for me anyway.

I use the function to show that their content had meaning to me. Also, if I like the post but don't feel I can write a valuable comment that hasn't been written, I would like it then as well.

wonderful! ... appreciate your reply, thanks kindly, cheerio... ๐Ÿ˜Š
