Learning by Osmosis
LEARNING BY OSMOSIS
With all this WA training, absorbing, applying & learning -- do you remember a time in school or university when it was a necessity to sleep with your head on your textbook at night to absorb the material in preparation for study or to pass exams? . . . If you do recall, this is by way of a process called learning by osmosis.
OSMOSIS
What is osmosis? ... it's generally known as a very gentle or subtle transferance of a set of molecules from one place to another ...
In the stance of being a scholar of all things good, it is hopeful that when one sleeps on the textbook, that all the information will be 'down-loaded' or 'uploaded,' whatever the case may be, into one's brain and subsequently, all the material one needs to know to pass the exam would be available instantaneously the next morning and voilà! ... it is anticipated that the correct answers would then fall out of the brain and onto the test paper ... and the result is: an aced exam! ... expecting at least a passing mark or better !
Sounds all pretty simple? ... well, more like wishful thinking perhaps...
It's also a bit like listening to repetitive audio recordings where the sounds are supposed to penetrate the brain into knowledge & understanding. . . . more like hopeful thinking.
Question du Jour
How the heck do you all absorb this immense training that requires so much use of our brain? ... and so many different parts of the brain? ... e.g. analytics, design, creating blogs, replying/responding to comments & questions, eye-balling the computer screen, having a snack, enjoying a coffee to keep awake, staying awake, and on it goes. . .
Well folks, that was a lil' rant for the day!
Thanks kindly for listening & reading -- much appreciated.
Your learned comments & 'likes' are most welcome here. . . enjoy a beautiful August Sunday!
Cheerio!

Hi Keisha.
I know its full on in WA. You hit the ground running and the crazy ride begins :)
I'm just trying one task at a time. Staying focused on that task til completed then on to the next.
In doing this I am moving steadily forward.
Tortoise style :) but it did win the race :)
Di :)
You're right on! ... always good to hear from you, cheerio... :)
p.s. with me, it feels more like a 'snail's' pace.... :)
You got me curious about the snail...
I copied a little snippet for you...
The snail is a rather slow creature, taking its time going where he pleases. While some see the snail as being lazy, there is a positive trait behind taking one's time. If we are to rush everything in life, how will we be able to appreciate the small things? The snail is slow and steady and appreciates the path that he is on...not solely focused on where he is going.
I wouldn't use the word lazy, maybe slow but not lazy. Anyway you chose a very steady appreciative animal.
Have an awesome day :)
Di :)
thank you kindly for taking precious moments to share this with me--much appreciated -- yes, slowly and surely--the lil' house on the back gets heavy carrying... lol... :o ..... and sometimes, when there's heavy lifting, one needs to take one's time with things...
... of course, everyone has different ways of learning new things too ... the step-by-step only works with certain individuals whereas, some need to see the entire creation before actually taking action steps... ah well, adult learners have different needs from kids... cheerio... :)
I started out as the Hare but have since become the Tortoise. Otherwise, my head would explode.
Don't try to take it in all at once Keisha.
Make a list of what you think you need to get done in order to get you where you want to go. Then prioritize those activities accomplishing one task at a time while doing the other things you know you need to do daily, and that you have time for.
But, remember, spending time here in WA being social is an extracurricular activity only to be engaged in when you have completed all the other things you want to get done.

Best method I have found so far. Use what you have just read. So study or read a piece of information, then turn right around and use it. Repeat until you have it down. Then move on to next thing.
