hey hi Wonderful WA ers!

It's a dog's life or is it?

Just a quick note of personal observation where our furry friends provide unconditional love, big ear listening, total acceptance of all for All and patient waiting!

We all love our best buddies! We strive to give them the best of everything possible -- the best, nutritious food, treats & toys, the most comfy bed, the best top-notch training, regular grooming, daily runs / walks, love, kindness, friendship, understanding, best home possible, drive them to parks, outdoor field hikes, visits with family & two-legged friends, and certainly some four-legged ones, too!

My pups have always had the biggest dog house ever, complete with a driver and car, housekeeper, chef, groomer, companion -- so what's with this picture?! ... lol ... amazing personal services for doggies! ... and I ask myself sometimes, where's my service? ... gotta laugh at that answer! ... :)

Wouldn't you love to have a chef prepare delicious, nutritious meals every day ..... and clean up as well? ... lol ...

Well, my current canine companion, an amazing being with the most soulful eyes of any living entity that I've ever met in this life, is now an advanced senior (you know, young for a long time!) and recently, she stopped jumping up on her favorite cushy lounge chair --

I sure hope she's not in any discomfort or pain ... :(

.... it is so hard to tell as they keep everything inside to themselves right through to the end -- never a complaint of anything!

Fortunately, she still enjoys her food with gusto and slurps up her water heartily and runs like a two-year young pup and her plumbing works fine, however, her fur is thinning and her skin is flaking soo-o ... we're going to the vet on Tuesday for an office visit and check-up.

Let's hope it'll all go alright.... hope, hope ....

My last beloved doggie, Princess Bonnie, the most beautiful golden retriever ever and the smartest with the best listening ears of any living being!

One day, she just stopped eating, drinking and playing, then, that was it, two weeks later.

Apparently, it was simply 'life-span.' She was just shy of ten years young.

After many years now, I still miss her!

All to say, my Swedish Reindeer herder and best friend is now getting to the same stage as well ... it's so hard to say, good-bye, farewell thee well, best friend!

Just getting myself prepared for the inevitable day soon.

How do you cope when a most beloved pet passes? ... or perhaps just about to pass? ....

Thanks kindly for listening, reading and simply being here ... thank you.

Your sage, insightful words would be appreciated.

... may the mysteries of life unfold as it should ... or is it simply a dog's life? ...

***blessings for love, light & peace to All ... :)

My Labrador - the best dog you could ever imagine - the one in my picture - had to be put to sleep three weeks ago. She was eleven and a half and was diagnosed with diabetes.

I feel for you. But I don't know what is worse - missing her now or watching her struggling to get up, even eating her food lying down... - she was a Labrador and enjoyed her food right to the last minute - I was feeding her pieces of sausage while she was getting her injection... I think looking into her loving eyes and not being able to help her was probably the worst.

Sending lots of love your way.

hi Isabella -- yes, life is soo-o precious! ... especially the life of our bestest best buddies -- they are simply 'love!' .... my lil' reindeer herder has such deep, soulful eyes as if 'all knowing' and 'all trying to understand' is her expression ...

always had a doggie or two since as a kid so they comfort us ....

thanks kindly for sharing your heartfelt thoughts .... :)

My thoughts are with you Isabella.

My chocolate lab is 13 so I know he doesn't have to many years left, although he still acts like he is 13 months.

I honestly believe he could be at deaths door and would continue to eat! he is without doubt the kindest most easy going dog ever, even my chickens used to victimise him!

Have a lovely day

Kevin

Life is so much better with a doggy friend or two :) Even though you May say hello and goodbye in the same lifetime. Great post and great niche opportunity!

hi Kim -- thanks so kindly for popping in to share -- yes, absolutely, our pooch buddies are really the best!

appreciate your kind words --

all the best for a wonderful week ahead, cheerio ... :)

We know how you feel. We had a pet business for several years and not only do we love our own pets but those of our clients as well.
Saying goodbye is the hardest thing. With our last dog, May, we decided to have the vet come to the house to put her to sleep and this was much better for me and for her and all of us. We had a new puppy in the house because we could not be dog-less. We all said our goodbyes and I stayed with her so she could hear my voice till the last moment.
Just writing about her now makes me get choked up a bit so I truly understand your feelings. Just remember that you give them a wonderful life. So many dogs never get that chance. We would give them years of our own life if we could...
Just enjoy and treasure every moment you have left together. She will leave paw prints on your heart and will always be with you. Everything we do for our dogs is out of love, even until the last thing you must do for them. When the time comes, brace yourself and try not to let her feel your sadness and just whisper her name softly in her ear so that the last thing she hears is the voice she loves.
Okay, I am crying now.
Sending you a big hug,
Colette and Philip

hey C& P -- after i read your post here the other day -- couldn't help with the tears welling up ... so had to leave it for another day which i guess it's today .... why's it so-o hard when one of our lil' pups leave? ... in my mind, they hold the beauty of nature and soulfulness so evident in their big, round window eyes of soul ...

anyway, here we are ... as life goes on ... thanks so much for being here and you both are so much appreciated ... love and hugs ... 💛 ...

hi Jimmy -- our dog buddies never ever complain about anything -- they simply accept everything -- something humans need to understand and also to learn .... appreciate you popping by .. :)

It is love without boundaries. Something that rarely exists among people.

Here you can read my story:

.... Dante -- soo-o so beautiful! .... now crying again ... gotta go ... thanks kindly for sharing ...

Thanks for sharing, Keisha.

Hi Keisha,
I truly understand how you feel. Sometimes it's just the breed of dog you have. I had a American English mix bulldog several years ago. But he had more of the English bulldogs traits and he only lived to be 8 years old. It seemed like he just went down really fast. He started having CHF, seizures. It was awful and we had to have him put down! Worst thing I have ever had to do!!

But the Vet said it would be worse on him to try and treat him, so we opted to put an end to his suffering:( He passed away in 2007 and we still miss him terribley.

I hope your fur baby will be fine. They truly become like our children.

Blessings,
Donna:)

PS We have a little Frenchie named Chance. He is 9 years old and still plays like a puppy:)

... thanks kindly, Donna -- you're wonderful and appreciate you being here ... am still crying ... gotta run now ...

....and that's right -- we just don't know of when that moment will arrive ... mine, she sleeps so soundly and she's so still sometimes that i think she's gone ... nope, not yet ... mind you she also said something about another five years ... can't tell whether she was kidding me or not ... lol ....
