fishing or phishing? 1400+ new domains purchased

hey hi Wonderful WArriors ... this is an alert to be a wee bit even more vigilant of your websites than usual ... especially since we're all online more now with the world's 'at home' policies in effect seemingly everywhere ...

Yes, Digital Shadows reported that an astounding 1,400 C-rona pandemic-related domains were bought up during the past three months and advising to be watchful for fishing or phishing schemes in cyberspace.

With the global pandemic in full swing, fishing or phishing, scam/spam watch may be important as these domains wiill eventually unfold and be put to use over the next days, weeks, months....

all to say, careful of any fishing bait out there --- because you certainly do not want to be caught unawares!

All to say, while we may be still be 'at home' in a drowsy-driven state of consciousness most days now, please be on the Alert or at least be semi-Awake for phishing and social platform scams on the internet ....

While most of the following is common sense and pretty much known, it's ok to be gently reminded to also be kept safe while working online.

As the use of hard hats helps to keep construction workers safe from falling debris ... your personal vigilance will keep you safe from internet schemes ...

Remember, YOU, are the best spam filter, bar none! ....

Be well-informed and wise to action as appropriate to the situation....

A vast majority of spam-spic and phishing-line attempts can be circumvented by following these concrete suggested steps:

---UNKNOWN SENDERS - pause first, refrain from clicking on anything -- before opening attachments or clicking any links from unknown senders, check the sender’s email address and compare it with the official website URL --- if it doesn't check out, suggest either notify the organization of a possible phishing attempt before deleting it.

---It is best to NOT respond to unsolicited messages that ask for your personal or financial details, and never share your username or password to access information.

---Before making online donations to seemingly charitable organizations, do your research and confirm whether it is a legitimate one. With the C-rona affecting the world, be extra vigilant about anyone asking you for money online.

---Oh Great News -- You've just received some free passes or gifts --- do you know the senders? ... and of course, they need your full name, address, phone #, email, bank account number et al to send you the 'freebie' or the 'coveted prize' .... if it sounds too good to be true, then it is ... it's ok to say, NO THANKS! or just delete it ...

----Ensure you've got the latest software and app updates to help protect your devices from the latest mischief.

----And of course, please note and be wary of emails containing spelling mistakes / grammar errors, use of generic greetings, and particularly, those demanding immediate action.

Scammers like you to respond 'Jack Be Nimble' quick because, of course, it's urgent or time-limited... proceed with caution ... Amber lights flashing!

And of course, if it is serious enough, contact your local authorities.

All to say, treat any unsolicited overture same as approaching a traffic intersection where one normally slows down in determining whether it is safe to proceed or not .... correct? ...
