Basics: Website Security & Mobile Friendly Theme?

Just a quick observation note to share, basic WA information more for new website builders here . . .
On the Basics: Website Security & Mobile Friendly theme . . .
. . . just two simple points to consider today . . .
1. SSL to ON:
With your awesome Wealthy Affiliate membership, note when you're building a new site, you have SSL already included, (https), simply check that it is ON relative to your selected website.
It can be found by going to your selected Website > Details > Free SSL Site SSL (HTTPS) and turn it ON. "Encryption is favoured by search engines (such as Google), and helps to keep visitor data safe."
2. Mobile Friendly or Responsive Theme:
And as for mobile-friendly or responsive, check also whether your chosen THEME is mobile-friendly / responsive as well. Generate Press is the all time favourite at the moment.
All to say, this above two measures will help to alleviate too much angst or needless worry when all of a sudden you've discovered that your site isn't showing up as HTTPS !
All sites should have this security key on to HTTPS vs the old HTTP!

yes, it's vital now to ensure that you select a 'mobile friendly or Responsive' theme as the use of mobile devices are definitely on the UP swing !

Thank you Keisha. I’m using WPcontact form on one site and Contact Form 7 on another. Both seem to allow spam the way I’ve got them set uo... I’ll do more research on the subject and ask again if I get stuck.
... ok ... yes, suggest also for you to back up your sites and to test out any plugins on a test site or sandbox to see / to understand what the effects might be, if any ...

I think I have done everything I can at this time. i checked out that I was doing everything sensible and think I am for the relatively low volume traffic at this time.
The problem seems to be that some people are manually putting time into filling out the Contact form with gobbledygook... or in one case advertising their services to marketers to find contact forms to advertise services ... ridiculousness.
well, it sounds like you're on top of it for now as best as possible ...
keep monitoring it over the next while and see ....

Thanks Keisha - I'm still practicing. The key is staying disciplined and motivated on a regular basis. So I'm setting daily and weekly goals on my practice times.
