I Made a Discovery In Wiki Commons

Lately I've been reading many posts about using images on our websites, the major concern being how to make sure the images we use are free for our use.

I'm not going to give you a list of where you can find free images because others, much more knowledgeable than I, have already done that for you. Do a WA search, and you will find tons of information on the subject.

What I do want to share with you is a discovery I made on Wiki Commons. I know. What I am about to share is probably something already known by most, but I didn't know it, and I wanted to share it just in case there is someone out there, like me. :)

Here is the image I chose.

I discovered how to check if the image was free for me to use. Here is how.

See the yellow light bulb? If you click on it, it takes you to the page that lets you know the usage information.

Now, to the best of my ability, I know this image is okay for me to use on my site.

I hope this was useful to someone. :)

Thanks for taking the time to read!
