What a waste of space
Take a good hard look at this homepage, because I'm about to completely revamp my site... and this is gonna be gone!
You see, I've just started Month 1 of the Super Affiliate Training Program and have very quickly realised, that my beautiful slider is a complete waste of prime real estate on my website - WHAT A WASTE OF SPACE.
Crafting Your Website Design & Establishing Your Brand
I've decided that my writingforcash.com site is going to be the one I take forward through this training, so in the next week or so, I'm going to give the site a complete overhaul.
Here's a few key areas that I need to work on:
- redo my logo and 'brand'
- better utilization of the current slider area
- get more specific in the content for my intended target audience
This super affiliate training program couldn't have come at a better time. You see, I've only written 24 posts for my site... it's enough to get a feel for the general layout flow of the website, but not so many posts that I'm too far down a rabbit hole that I have to scrap the site and start again.
Yes, I am going to switch themes, so in effect that is starting over... but the good thing is that I with content already on the website, it will help me see what the new theme is going to look like moving forward.

It's pretty clear that we are receiving a wealth of information and resources through the training, and it just reinforces my view that Wealthy Affiliate is THE best platform for any serious online affiliate marketer.

I agree with taking a full use of your real estate space. However, I have to becareful with a complete make over for the site, because this mights negatively affect your site rank. This happened to me with my site. Best of luck to you.

Agree with you about the wealth of information and resources here to help us reach our goals. WA truly is the best place to be.
It's easy to get caught up with elaborate themes, when actually simple is usually the most effective and doesn't detract from the content.

Thanks Mark, yes you are completely right on your feedback. I wanted a pretty theme and spent hours on the original one I started last year.... finally coming to the conclusion (duh in January2018!) that less is often more! Best wishes, Karen
Hiya Nick, yes it's frustrating as I've now spent the best part of the day trying to get my new theme working and how I want it. But as Kyle says in his training, we have to build a foundation and framework that we're proud of - and hopefully by having a real tidy up of my site at the start of this challenge will make it much clearer what directions and focus I need to take for my content. Thanks Sue... I was so proud of my site when I first created it, but now I realise it falls short in quite a few ways. So I'm not going to be all precious about it, change is good right?
Karen, I just changed themes on my site. I had built what I felt was a stunning home page using a plug-in called Elementor. But it was slow to load. I was so proud of it! So I know your pain. Change is good. I've always believed that.
