Power Outages can't stop the determined affiliate!
I am sitting in relative darkness as I write this, although it's actually 9am. We are experiencing a very adverse weather event here at Cape Foulwind (aptly named), with severe gail winds, thunder, lightening and icy cold rain. Further south they have had a great dumping of snow, which is unusual for SI NZ at this time of year.
But will a mere power outage deter the determined affiliate?
Hell no.I have a hotspot set up on my phone and I'm still connected to the outside world... well for as long as the battery holds out on my phone and laptop.
Hubby has just gone downstairs to get the generator going, so at least we'll have running water and can flush the loos until this weather passes.
I'm being super careful not to use up all my (mobile) data on wasteful things like downloading photos or watching 'tutorial' videos... but at least I can still get some work done. This is just part of life as a Determined Wealthy Affiliate ...
All in a days work, right?
Onwards and upwards, Cheers, Karen :)
ps. If all else fails, I guess I could whip out the pen and paper??

They can be a pain, lots of experiences of outages on my travels!
It’s at these times when it’s nice to go back to bed!

haha, I hear ya! Actually I've had a busy afternoon on my laptop, a few skype calls, cooking up the next big idea, all from the warmth of my bed - with two dogs keeping my feet nice and warm! It could be worse!
Even through adverse weather conditions, isn't it great to know we can still move forward, we can still do the work we love!
If all else fails, it is fun to whip out that old pen and paper too. I still write quite a bit on paper, but now I use a reusable notebook. I just take a picture of my writing using a corresponding app and wipe off the pages with a damp cloth. LOL!
Hope your weather clears and your power comes back on very soon.
All the best,
Sue
Hi Sue, that is such a cool idea, I haven't heard of reusable notebooks - that could be a niche in itself! Power is back on and I'm now starting to turn my attention to month three of SWAG... oh and look for reusable notebooks on Amazon! Cheers, Karen
A cyclone at moment category 3 ( 110 km per hour at center & 185 km at peripheries) now approaching Fiji my country and may intensify further. It may destroy infrastructures and Power so can be power black- out for days or weeks and may adversely affect my WA activities
Old school - OMG, my fingers are tired already, I'm not used to using a pen and paper anymore haha! Cheers, Karen
Well if you want to live in a place named Cape Foulwind I guess you have to be prepared for anything. Here in Southern NH (USA) it has been bad enough and in my town we lose power too often. So, I know how it feels.
At least it will keep you busy.
I hop you get your power back quickly.
Steve
Hi Steven, yes it sure will, we have lit the fire and it's all cozy and warm in here now! Thanks for checking in. Cheers, Karen
I have experienced similar experiences for 4 months after Irma..Hang in there it will pass.wish you well.
This is NOTHING like Irma, I'm sure the power will be back on in quick time. Take care and thanks for reading, Cheers, Karen
You go, girl! You got the right attitude. Nothing can keep you from getting your work done! Great words of encouragement. Thank you for that.
I hope your power is restored soon.
Yvette
HI Yvette, same here, the weather is pretty awful down here at the moment. Take care, cheers, Karen

Power has been restored, I went to town and got some coal for the fire, so we're nice and cozy here. Cheers, Karen
