I have begun building a website on the ketogenic diet plan. It is going well, but I now wanted to add some recipes, but most of the recipes that I have found are from online. I

You cannot copy recipes from other websites. You can "tweak" them to make them your own, but even then, if the recipe owner finds out you are purposefully stealing their recipes and editing them as your own, they can still take your recipe down through DMCA. You can share their posts on your social media, or share their YouTube videos, but you cannot publish them to your website.

Otherwise, you can contact them personally and ask permission to publish with a link. Some people might be OK with that because you're giving them a link.

thank you !

If you want to share someone else’s recipe, it’s not that different from sharing any fact or detail from any website. Simply give credit where credit is due. “Here is a great recipe I found at xyz website...” and make sure to link to them.

Thank you, that is helpful.

Yes, the recipe belongs to the creator.

You can share Youtube videos that have recipes in them. I have a website that does that. It helps the creator of the video get more traffic. If they are selling a cookbook, I also will try to share a Amazon link to their cook book.

You can also contact the person directly about using a recipe on your site. Or... create your own recipes.

Best wishes!

Thank you Sondra, those are good ideas.
