Which to do? A Job or WA?

I recently had to quit my job due to some disturbing circumstances. I stressed about it, because "how was I going to make money to help support our family?"

I wasn't making much at this job. Full time minimum wage and I was too tired to do anything when I got home in the evening. It was getting worse. I seriously didn't DO anything after a while. My kids and my husband most often ended up cooking and taking care of the house. They had jobs and school, too! The job was taking all of my energy, literally. I had nothing left to give my family. And I wasn't getting paid worth the energy put into it.

So, I've been at home for a little while now. I am much happier. I've been much healthier and less exhausted. And, I'm getting more done. I haven't made much financially yet, but it's getting there!

I had a very long debate, though, with myself, as to going back to work by way of finding another job. I decided not to yet. I am still new to WA, though I've been here for about four months. But, I'm seeing the benefits of it and am going to work with this for a while and see where it takes our family.

While I was working outside the home, I was getting a little depressed thinking that I was never going to get anything published and it was going to take me a year or two to get much published at all or anything even looking like it was going with my business. But, since I've quit working, I have been able to get a few posts published. I've been able to make just under $40! I know, it's not much, but it's a huge deal to me! It's encouragement that I am doing something right and that it's okay to work from home! My goal is to make more than full time at minimum wage. And I KNOW I'm on the right track!

So, a job, or Wealthy Affiliate???

Well, $40 isn't much. But, I'm doing what I love! I'm playing with my art nearly every day when I didn't even have time or energy for it even once a week. So, I'm thinking it's Wealthy Affiliate all the way! That's what I'm sticking with.

Thanks everyone :)

I agree with you Kay.
It's Wealthy Affiliate!

Thank you :)

I've been there, and understand all too well what it's like to have a job literally suck the life out of you.

While you're working on your site, remember that you can also use the skills you're learning here at WA to pick up some freelance work. It can help lessen the stress of income while building your website, just make sure to find the balance between the two, so your website doesn't suffer.

Oh, you're awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this with me :) I will try some of these things. I think I was just focusing more on just WA, but I'll try some of these things as well! Thank you so much!

Hi Kay!
I know exactly how you feel. I currently work 20 hours a week but for a bit higher pay than minimum wage. That’s another option for you to consider if you think it would work for you.
Whatever you decide I wish you all the best my friend.
KyleAnn

Thank you. Yes, I was thinking of picking something up for part time. Currently, I'm a fill-in at my previous job. They still pay me, but it's not regular. For now, though, that works :) Thank you so much!

Hi, Kay.
Paul here from Canada.

I look at WA as an investment in my future through continued education.

Money comes and goes and sometimes we spend it on things that we really do not need. I budget $400.00 per year to invest into myself every year through WA.

Because I move at a very slow pace, I know that to become successful online for me, is going to take a fairly long time.

So, as Willin has commented below in response to your post, there are all kinds of 'Side Hustles' that are available to make all kinds of additional income online.

My response to your post is that I don't think that it is about 'going full-time' with WA or 'dumping it' to go back to a job. I think that it is more about adding WA as a part of a new 'Life Style,' even if that means having to go back to a 'Job.'

$400.00 per year is nothing for a tool that keeps you ahead of Industry Trends in the Internet/Affiliate Marketing Arena. WA is a platform that has been here since 2005 and if you look closely, the most successful users of the platform are those that have made WA a part of their lifestyle. It is the only 24/7 program complete with support through their 'Open Education' Platform.

There is nothing available on the WWW that is comparable.

Why most 'move on' or 'quit' is part and parcel of mindset.

'...I've been here for six months now and haven't made a cent....'

'...I've been here for a year now and still haven't made a cent...'

Listen, Kay.

It takes four years to become an undergraduate in most disciplines. Then it takes another four years to get a license to practice within the upper crowd within those disciplines. Even then, nothing is guaranteed.

What makes people think that success on 'The Internet' is anything different?

I read a post from a fellow member recently that he has a four-year-plan. I think he is on the right track because WA has opened his eyes to all the possibilities out there both online and off.

I've corresponded with others here that have 5-10 year plans. Those are the kind of correspondences that make sense to me.

Yes, some sacrifices have to be made to budget an additional expense into our lives. The cost of Yearly WA fees is actually easy to incorporate. Think of it as less than $1.00 per day and all of a sudden all kinds of realities become available.

In my neck of the woods, High Speed Internet + Home Phone + Cable TV can run up to $225.00 per month depending on the 'Bells & Whistles.'

O.K. so what do I really need? I need High Speed, Unlimited Internet.

I really do not need a 'Home Phone' (my cell will do).

And, I can replace my Cable TV needs with IPTV for less than $20.00 per month because I have High Speed Unlimited Internet.

In this example scenario, I really have not lost any benefits but I have saved more than half. So now, WA at less than $400.00 per year has all of a sudden become a very affordable 'lifestyle tool..'

Oh, and by the way...I became a re-seller of IPTV and provide to anyone that I can get access to because I know how to market myself online i.e. I know how to build storefronts.

I trust that you understand what I am trying to say.

Do a Job or do WA?

The answer is simple...Do both. Make the WA education a part of your lifestyle which may or may not include a Job.

Thank you for sharing your post and thoughts.

Would love to learn from your feedback.

Kindest regards from Canada.

Paul.

You know, I never thought about that - taking four years of education to be good at something. I was putting aside just a year or so to succeed here. But, you're right, it might take longer. I think I can work with that too :) And thank you so much. I love art. That's what I want to do as a job. And this seems to be helping me achieve that. I grew up thinking that art wasn't something that was logical to go into. But over the last few years, I've been seeing that opinion through different lenses. And I see it's something that can be done and still get an income from it. Thank you so much for all of what you said and I will be referring to them often :) Thank you so much!

Hi, Kay.
Cheers on your response and understanding.
Many of us are led to believe that making money on the Internet is easy. "Just buy this button to push.'

In order to become a doctor, you first have to learn what a doctor is. It is no different than becoming an Internet and/or Affiliate Marketer.

To continued success on your journey.

Kindest respect and regards from Canada.

Paul.

Thank you so much and to you as well :)

Cheers.
Paul.

I'd love to be able to make the decision to go full-time with WA, unfortunately I can't afford to yet. Jim

I'm so sorry. I hope it is attainable soon for you :)

We are so impressed with you! Hey, if you can make $40, you can make $400, $4000 and so on!
You are also feeling better and will now have more energy = you will feel happier and have more to give to your family.
You did the right thing and now you can focus on WA.
Wishing you every success.
Colette and Philip

Thank you so much for that :) That's kind of the way that I was feeling. Before it just seemed like I wasn't able to do anything. But, now, it's been totally different :) I'm getting things done! And It's WONDerful!
Thank you!

And your journey has just begun Kelly!

Godspeed!

Thank you!

Make it happen... blessings,
Scarlett

Thank you, I will :)

I compliment your decisions. I wish you the best of success.

Thank you so much!

I say that as long as you have the support of your family and it is what you want to do, then going the WA way is truly the best answer. I am so happy for you and I know that you can indeed make it work for you and your family. The best of intentions for you, I would say luck, but I am not a fan of it myself. I believe that we are more the directors of our fate than the puppets of it, so do what you love and love what you do.

Blessings ~ Frank & Tina (free4life)

Thank you! I also believe that as well. Not so much luck. But what we choose to do with what we have and the time we have for it :)
Thank you so much!
