What helps you with motivation?
Just out of curiosity, do you listen to music or watch something as you work on your websites?
What kinds of things help you to get motivated and stay motivated?
I remember in one of my high school art classes our teacher allowed us to listen to whatever kind of music helped us create. So we listened to a lot of Doors and Byrd’s and Alanys Morriset.
One day she came into class with her music and she told us she wanted to run a little experiment.
She had us listen to our music for the first half of the class and see what we came up with. The second half of the class was her music to see where our creative juices would take us.
During our half we came up with the normal run of creativity that we had every day.
The second half blew my mind! As soon as her music started playing my hands couldn’t keep up with what was going through my mind! The creativity was flowing so quickly I just didn’t have the experience enough to catch it all!
It was AWESOME!!!!!!
You’re probably wondering what kind of music she played for us now aren’t you?
Oh, just the good ole stuff that’s been around for a few centuries. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and the like.
Now if I’m struggling with how to start something, what I want to write about or paint or draw I play one of the classics.
So, out of curiosity, what helps you?

Ya! Sadly, that’s a little difficult for me. About the time that I sit down to work, that’s when things start getting hectic.
But my kids are getting better about working with me so I can get work done.
It’s tough I know! I think it’s hard when you’re working from home becasue they don’t get that. They think if you’re at home, you’re not doing anything important.
I love all kinds of music but I find music distracting when I work...I need to quiet to stay focused. But that was an interesting experiment.

That helps a lot. When I was a teenager we lived in the country near a creek. I would often go down to the bridge on the creek just to listen to those nature sounds :)
Aren't they a symphony of awesome Kay= Love it and I can almost hear the sounds you are referring to

I am a musician and when I am not working on my audio projects I have music playing on my Bose wave radio. Creative juices flow and my spirits are lifted when I have some good old R and B in the background
I play classic rock in the background. Or classical music as well... depends on my mood.
If I'm really having a struggle, I watch one of the training or class videos to get me jump started.

I Look up on my wall at my goals board,
I look to see what the last one on the list is
I check to see how close I am to it.
If I am far away I get very motivated
If I am close to it I tend to be a bit more mellow.
The secret is aim high so your never close
So you'll always be motivated
hope this helps,
Calvin
It sure does help! Thank you so much!
