To all Researchers out there and their assistants!
'What is your occupation, a woman was asked by a clerk'?
She hesitated, not knowing how to respond.
The clerk insisted 'what is your job'?
'Oh yeah, she replied once she recollected herself, I'm a mother, sometmes called mum'
'Mother or mum is not on our list, do you mean housewife'
'We don't list 'Mum' as an occupation, 'housewife' covers it,' Said the recorder emphatically.
Another lady witnessed the event and was faced with the same situation several months later.
When asked the same question she did not hesitate and said, 'I am a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations.'
Motherhood is definitely a research work for most mothers especially those that don't have any previos experence or the extended family to learn from.
The children are the faithful Research Assistants.
Grannies are the Senior Reserch Associates.

This is an awesome resume for all of us mothers in whatever form we come in. I have 3 grown, very charming adults and whilst I only got to spend today with one of them, It was the best time.
I was spoiled with a lovely and lengthy 9 course meal but the best bit was the time we had together and to tell him how proud I am of him and to learn what his dreams and ambitions are.
He is the middle of the 3 and was less and still is the least needy of the 3.
So only getting to spend the day with one was a blessing in disguise.
He deserved my time and my ears and I deserved the meal... lol
