Life is a game of chess.

I read this somewhere today and felt I needed to relate it to something I read on a WA post today. I hope you are encouraged.

'Life is a game of chess. To win you have to make a move. Knowing which move to make comes with INSIGHT and knowledge, and by learning the lessons that are accumulated along the way. We become each and every piece within the game called LIFE.'

Alan Rufus

After the game, the king and the pawn go back to the same box.

Every pawn is a queen, waiting to be realised.

Even a pawn can take on a king.

What prevents us from taking appropriate moves -FEAR.

I like what shared DomW shared here:

Fear can prevent us from reaching our goals.

Look forward to your comments. If you are a chess player, do you agree or disagree?

I´m international tournament chess player. Well, it´s a lot in connecting with the life, but most of the time the life can be better in the way that losing hurt a lot in chess. I had played in primer league in other sports and can tell what a lot of chess players said: The worst loose in sport are in chess because it´s only you which can win. In life, you have friends and family which are important. Newer forget it or them!

Happy Christmas.

Thanks for your reply.
Can't it be said also that you have other chess players as friends when things go against you also?

:) Well, it´s a friend but on same time opponents so...

But life can hurt að lot too so it was not what I mean. Just that I would use more team sports rather than chess if you are in serious training for chess. But it´s just my 5 cent :)

Ok, I get it.

I need to apologise! I´m sorrowful about coming with comments like this because the idea is very good and right in so man ways.
What the reason (but no excuse) for this happens is that this is a very difficult time of the year for me. In Iceland are Christmas the most important time for families (all the 13 days) but almost 2 years ago I divorce and a far away to recover from it. So my feelings are huge at this time. My ex-wife is chessplayer too (was in the international team and played in many Olympic tournaments) and when we played against each other I always feel that I was in lose-lose position!
And somehow your letter touch a nerve which made me act in wrong way. And absolute crazy way because your letter was brilliant.
Even so is right that I wrote that for sportsman is even more bad to lose in chess than most other sports but that is an another story.
Many wives love too. So I add, that the Queen is the most powerful men on the board and you need to defend your king.
But like I said, it was not my intention to be rude even so it could look like that, my feeling just got overwhelmed, sorry for it.

I don't feel offended at all. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I think you may still be grieving and that's what this has opened up.
I think you are awakening a desire in me to learn the game and I hope in the new year, I can fit it in.
Thanks so much for taking time to respond, I do appreciate it and look forward to future interactions with you.

I once won a chess game with one pawn and the king.
Life is like chess, we just have to make the right moves at the right time.
