Hey, Wealthy Affiliate fam!

Today's topic is "How To Overcome Creative Block?".

I will be short yet still hope you find this post useful if you are experiencing challenges in writing new content for your blog.

After publishing an unusually large amount of blog posts (for me personally) the last few weeks, I came to a point that is usually called "writer's block".

This is a rare occasion for me, so I had to remember what knowledge do I have to overcome it and deal with it as fast as possible.

After taking a walk to the park, I remembered about the free-writing technique (and even created a training on it here at WA).

What Is Free-Writing?

According to Wikipedia, free-writing is:

"a pre-writing technique in which a person writes continuously for a set period of time without regard to spelling, grammar, or topic. It produces raw, often unusable material, but helps writers overcome blocks of apathy and self-criticism".

Funny thing, I had to go through my own training to remember how I did before.

I tried this practice today again, and guess what?

I am already writing up a draft post for my blog that I intend to publish very soon. (Still learning how to use SiteContent properly).

Anyway, we, as bloggers are involved a lot in writing process, so this free-writing exercise will help you unleash your creativity.

Further details on what free-writing is and how to use it to your advantage are in this training tutorial: Free Writing Exercise About Your Book, Article, Blog Post

If it helped me, I hope it will help you too if you are going through the creative block at the moment.

Happy blogging!

Zarina

Hi Zarina, cool! I don't have writers block, I have the opposite challenge - so many ideas, so little time. ;) Your training sounds interesting though, will check it out. :)

Sorry for late response, Lauren.
For having too many ideas, having a notepad nearby always is a good idea ;)
I hope you enjoyed the training!

Great Technique. The more tools we have the better, so thank-you Zanna

Thank you for sharing your technique. I find myself following your training one after another ... Writing tips are always helpful to me as I have a hard time writing at beginning. My problem is my ideas are overflowing too much that I have hard time organizing.
