What is the right way to place pics and links into content where you place them where you want them? Thank you.
In general pictures should be placed in the center between paragraphs or to the right of content.
Some people like putting pictures on the left of content but that creates a bad user experience as the left margin should always be free of distractions within the content.
I am assuming you mean text links. If so, these can be placed anywhere but make sure they are not within the first couple of paragraphs.
I normally wait until about a quarter of the way through the content before adding my first link. Also do not place links too close together.

You can add Google Adsense in your sidebar by using WordPress widgets.
Simply go to Appearance » Widgets page in your WordPress admin area. Next, drag & drop the ‘Custom HTML’ widget to the appropriate widget area and paste your Google AdSense code in there.
Personally I use an Ad Inserter plugin that will put whatever you need in the Header. Try it the other way first. It looks easier.

In lesson 5 Task #2 are we to use a low hanging fruit keyword?
as you go through your training you want to apply all you learn to the building of your web site so you want to keep low hanging fruit in mind as you write your content and apply where you see fit. keep going and keep it simple
Yes. I'm guessing what you are actually asking but here goes. :) Low hanging fruit is just low competition keywords or lower traffic keywords that the competition isn't targeting.
Oh and yes. For a while it's easier to go with low hanging fruit. You can try for the big boys keywords but it's harder to get traffic.

I am having trouble with placement of menu items.
Not too sure what you mean by placement of menus.
You have a Main/Top Menu and possibly a Footer one.
When you have Menu Headers published you then go into Appearances then Menus.
You then create a Main Menu from the dropdown, save it and it will show on the right.
You then take those Menu Headers you published from the left side of the page and move them over to the Main Menu you created.
You then Save and view your site and your Menu and the headers should be showing.
You assign pages for those Headers.

I agree with Daisy, Pick one of the sites, and start there. This is a step-by-step process and takes time for even one. You will be back in tune with the work soon.
Are the domains here in WA Kim?
Also just build 1 website when you begin as it is way too hard trying to give more than one all the attention it needs to become strong and indexed and ranked.
If your domain is not here, you will need to transfer it over to WA
Contact site support with details of where the domain is and they will help you.
If it is here go to the training and step by step things will become clearer for you
