You only have to change one thing to be successful

Every day the clock resets. Your wins don't matter. Your failures don't matter. Don't stress on what was, fight for what could be. ~ Sean Higgins

Disclaimer: This post is about personal growth and development and does not contain any directly related information about blogging. It is merely shared to enhance and encourage the work on ourselves. If this is not something you are interested in, then please feel free to read another post. I won't have hurt feelings. I promise.

And now, on with the show, so to speak...

I was reading something today and wanted to share it with you. I read that to be successful you only have to change one thing.

Read on to see what that one thing is...

The meaning of change

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary (online): there are a lot of definitions for the word change from the money that jingles in your pocket to changing your clothes.

The definition I am talking about is the transformative change that comes when something is done to make things radically different.

You know the change I am referring to. It is the kind of change that you undertake when you change something that you don't ever want to change back to.

Like the caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Even if the butterfly wanted to change back, it would be impossible. Once you have transformed something, it is very difficult if not impossible to "untransform" it.

Note: Okay, the toys that transform can be changed back to their original state, but we are not talking about toys. We are talking about our lives, our brains, our thoughts. If we manage to make a transformation, we sure don't want to go back to our original state. Well, unless our original state was better, but those cases are undoubtedly few and far between.

The one thing you have to change

As promised, here is the one thing that you will likely have to change if you want to achieve success:

Please scroll down....

A little more....

Just a tad farther...

Almost there...

EVERYTHING!

Now believe me when I say this to you, I did not come up with this revelation on my own. I got it from someone else who is currently more successful than me.

See what I did there? It was subtle so you might have missed it.

I said "I got it from someone else who is currently more successful than me."

Previously, before I began to get more into self development (not "selfish" development... that is something else entirely), I would have just said, "someone who is more successful than me."

While the difference is subtle, it is also valuable. I am not seeing myself as someone who can't achieve great things. I am seeing myself as someone who hasn't achieved those great things...YET!

You too, can achieve great things. Stop that inner critic that belittles and berates your efforts.

I look forward to seeing some great transformations among us!

Karin 😎

Hi Karin,

I take that disclaimer is for those who don't need personal growth? πŸ€”

To me, personal development is very important when it comes to blogging, especially stopping that inner critic. I'm constantly working on my thinking and having the proper mindset.

Appreciate for the post!
isaiah 😊

Thank you, Isaiah. I just wanted to let people know that if they didn't want to read something that was not specifically blog related, they didn't want to read this post. I write a lot of what I hope are motivational posts. Some prefer to not read that sort of material. Some do.

I hope that when people read my posts they get what they were looking for.

They're very helpful posts, Karin.
Keep doing what you're doing πŸ‘

Thank you so much, Isaiah!

Hi Karin, I have to say that since becoming a member of WA.
My life and outlook has changed and is changing day by day.
Just to feel the positivity I am feeling was very strange at first, but I am getting used to looking at things through a positive attitude is such a great feeling.

Best wishes and stay safe.
Gaz

Hi Gaz. Thank you for sharing that. I think for a lot of people, feeling positive can be an alien feeling. I am glad that you are looking at things through a more positive lens and seeing things differently!

Nice post Karin, so very true. Most people hate change and stay in there comfort zone. It’s only when we step out of are comfort zone, we can grow as individuals. So many people do the same routine, and expect different results 🧐. The human brain has approximately 60,000 thoughts per day. You must learn to monitor your thoughts and get rid of the negative ones. If you don’t feel uncomfortable when trying something new, you will NEVER CHANGE. I recommend that everyone in WA watch Dr Joe Dispenza series on Gaia β€œ Rewired β€œ. You will learn how the human brain works and how to change the way you perceive the world. So go and change your path in life by 1% towards success and over time you will notice the difference.
Success is tied to your mindset. WA members go out today and transform yourselves for Success.
Have a transformational Successful week!!!
Be well

Thanks, Kenny! Where would I find this Dr. Joe Dispenza series? Love your reply.... So fitting!

Hi Karin, You can download the Gaia app. It has a lot of great series. One being Rewired by Dr Joe Dispenza, or you can find his books on Audible. Breaking the habit of being yourself, this book is life changing and one of my favorite books. Hopefully you will find Dr Joe very enlightening.
Take care
Kenny

That inner critic!!! 😠😑

It was an eye opener and a game changer for me when I realised, with a little help, that I spoke to myself in a manner that I would never speak to another person.

Now I usually catch myself before the inner critic erupts and say to myself something like "that wouldn't be very helpful, would it. What would be more constructive?" It works wonders.

Thanks Karin; great post.

Rick

Thanks Rick. We really do talk very poorly to ourselves. We call ourselves names and belittle and berate ourselves in ways that we would never do to another. By doing this to ourselves, we train other people how to talk to us and treat us, too.

We recently held a funeral service for my inner critic. Laid that critic to rest! πŸ’₯😒 It was bittersweet.

I love the idea of a funeral service for the inner critic, I'll have to do the same.
I constantly remind my IC that perfection is the enemy of excellence.

Very true!! in your example there is a chasm between changing for the better and some possibility of attaining and no possibility of attaining anything by not affecting that change in you let alone the enhancements that permeate to other parts from mindset....confidence, attitude, thought direction and process, resilience to name a few....just from one thing!! ;

R.

Thanks for replying Rami!

Like I replied to Jeff above, attitude is EVERYTHING! If you can change that, you can change everything!

Whatever you and Jeff say, my lady!! ;

Have a good day!
