Whatever it takes, it takes hard work

I came across this the other day. It made we think of the work that it takes to be successful—in anything.

It takes a certain amount of steadfastness and determination. It takes "sweaty tights" and "broken toes." It takes that extra bit of something.

But it also takes the knowledge and the heart to realize that success means something different to people.

To me, success might mean doing what it takes to support my family. To be able to buy a motor home and travel around the nation. That might be my definition.

Someone else might define success as owning cars and houses and vacation properties.

Still others might define their success as being able to do all the things they want to do.

You see, we all want to be successful and we all can be if we are will to do whatever it takes to reach our definition of what success is.

When I was in network marketing, one of our trainers' wives had written a book titled, "Whatever it Takes." It was a story of their personal struggle and what it took to rise to the top—to meet their definition of success. They now own a huge ranch and a huge house boat. The name of the houseboat? "Whatever it Takes."

Are you willing to sacrifice things in your life so that you can reach your definition of success? Do you even know what success is for you?

It takes a lot of hard work and sometimes we do get a "lucky" break or two, but those breaks don't usually come without a lot of work to start with!

Hoping everyone has a great and "successful" week!

Hi Karin, great post. Thank you.

Hi Karin- This is such a great post and I was sitting writing earlier and thinking about success and what it means and you have nailed it here
Work hard and get results.
This is a business so if you want success you have to put in the consistent effort to achieve your goals and then you can do whatever you like
So cool
Thank you
Vicki

I really enjoyed this post Karin. And I love the quote too. I had a boss who used to say “I don’t want to hear about the labor pains I just want the baby”...obviously not a goal setter or motivator!
Thanks for sharing your wisdom on this.
Well done!

Thanks Karin, wishing you a great week as well. This post rings true in a variety of ways and speaks to a variety of people. It is great to read this type of post for a couple reasons, one it puts what you do in a why perspective, and two it reminds us that whether it is seen on the surface or not, everyone is beating challenges to their successes.

This is a great blog!!! Thanks for sharing it.

Tried and True

Great Post. This is very interesting because you are so right. People do look at success differently. Because success is different for everyone.

To me, success is having not to have money worries ever again and to have the necessities without robbing Peter to pay Paul ever again.

And having the toys too isn't so bad either but they aren't as important as making a living and be able to afford just to pay your bills without the worries about being late.

Best wishes
Marmar

Great post!! So right.... In the work-a-day world some have been heard to say, "Lots of people are looking for a job, only a few are looking for work." Pretty much the same in whatever arena you choose to "work". Those who work, win! Those who don't find excuses to explain away their failures. :-)

Karin,
What a powerful and true message .
Yes, success looks different for us all but the bottom line , we have to decide how badly we want it .

Ah love the photo. I was a ballet dancer for almost 29 years. So I know the look of those feet well

Interesting post, Karin, thanks.
We all have different ideas of what we define as success. We should formulate what that means to us, set our caps, and go for it the good old-fashioned way...with hard work.
We are willing to do it that way, and we join you on the journey.
Have a productive week!
