Today is the most important day of your life

I always say to my guys, "The most important day of your life is today. This very minute is the most important of your life. You must win this minute. You must win this day. And tomorrow will take care of itself." ~ Coach John Chaney

Today is a very important day for all of us. You see, today is the first day of the rest of our lives. The great thing is, every day we get to celebrate this important day!

I have problems, don't get me wrong, I have bad days. I worry about things. I have moments of anxiety. I have moments of depression. And sometimes a bad day is just a bad day, that's all.

I could bore your with the details, but I would rather talk about that which is good in the world or in my life.

I would rather tell your that my granddaughter got all A's on her report card—which she did. I would rather tell your that my cat gave me a great back "massage" this morning—it wasn't that great and she clawed me a little, too, but that's okay! I would rather tell your that I love my job and the people I work with. (It's true, I really do—at least this week I do!)

Because each day is so important, I choose to value and cherish each one that I am on the top side of the soil! Each day may not be an "epic" day, but each day is the most important one of my life.

It's the most important day of your life, too.

Will your choose to win this minute? This day? Or what will your choose instead?

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Wow! So true. My new moto in my life is to start each day from a Happy Place. That way even when bad things happen, as they surely will. I'm still in a happy place As not much can go wrong wrong when you start out on a positive note.

That is a very good way to look at it! If we start out on the right foot, we can spend the day in a better place!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Yes, every day we're alive is extremely important.

Many of us including myself worry about next week, next month or the months to come. The truth is, we need to learn in the moment and enjoy every moment. As each moment passes us by we can't get them back.

Personally I am trying to focus on the moment and worry less about tomorrow or next week or so on. This is a real challenge for me as I seem to find something to worry about all the time. In my cases it is usually health related, and for me in my mid fifties my health is pretty darn good. It must be if I can walk 2 to 4 hours nightly.

Thank you again for another great reminder!

Greg

Thank you for sharing!

Live each day as if it were your last.

Because we never know... it could be.

Had to say I love your bio pic of the dog. How funny!

Today is the most important day because you can never get it back. What a lovely message!

Thank you. You made the point.

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Just wrote you a message and then managed to delete it. Yes, I agree -- today is the most important day of your life, because you are still here to enjoy it. Be grateful.

I wrote a blog today, too,and put in an idea that I've had for a long while. I used to say, "today is a new little life." So, what shall we do with our little life today?

Fran, I think you and I think a lot alike! Thanks for your comments! Sorry you had to retype them!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

This is the day that the Lord hath made! Thank you for the reminder Karin. Live it like it is the last day. I am going to do my best.

Yes! You are welcome. Sometimes we all need a little reminder!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Hi Karin.

I like the phrase. When you get up in the morning it could be the last day of your life. One never knows. My dad left one morning never to return home. One must live each moment like it is their last. I am a positive person and happy most of the time. It's my disposition. Most of us have hard times, pain and even medical stuff to push through but attitude makes all the difference.

Have a wonderful day!

You have it exactly. We never know when our last moment will be or of those we love. I never miss a chance to tell or show the people that I love that I do.

Some days attitude is the only thing that can get a person through.

Thanks for commenting. I am sorry to hear about your dad.

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Well, Karin,Today is the day we have. Yesterday is in the past and tomorrow is the future. The only day we have is today so, we should make the best of it, because all too soon it becomes the past. A thoughtful piece as usual, Karin

I might add, that tomorrow isn't sure. The only day we have is today... I like that and I will be doing my best to make the best of every single moment.

Hope you've had a great day, Barbara!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁

Hi Karin.

I think I'll keep the one said before (it was you, I hope):
Today matters, make it count.

The two sentiments are similar, of course, and probably intend to convey the same idea, but there's something lyrical about the latter which just "does it for me", I guess.

Anyway, that's me done for the day. Have a great one!

Regards,

Thanks, Tayo! Lyrical phrases can be so much easier to remember! I don't think it was me that said or wrote, "Today matters, make it count," but I agree with the sentiment.

So on that note: "Today is the most important day of your life—Make it count!" That will be my mantra for the day!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁
