Thankful that thorns have roses
Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses. ~Alphonse Karr
Admittedly, I was probably more upset by the GDPR regulations than I should have been. For that, I apologize. At least the "new" Karin took the proverbial "bull by the horns" and I believe that now my site is compliant.
The above did point out to me that I was grumbling because there were some thorns in that lovely "rose." (Well, perhaps, lovely rose isn't the right phrase, but, for the sake of illustration, let's go with it!)
Instead of seeing the value in the GDPR rules, I was looking at all of the prickly little thorns and how they were going to hurt my side (thorn in the side!).
Now I can get back to the work that I am here for: building a site (thorn) that has roses on it!
Okay, I'm being a little cheesy with the whole thorns and roses thing, but I am realizing more and more that when I just take a step back from the problem and ask for help with a solution, it turns out ok and I don't need to complain all the time.
Update on my health
I thought I would just give you all a quick update on my health for those who are interested in reading it.
My blood sugar numbers are at the best they have been in years! I am not in full ketosis (ketogenic diet), but close enough that I am seeing the wonderful results I had hoped for, specifically the lowered blood sugar numbers. I'm not quite there yet, but each day I'm getting closer. (The photo is from about a month ago and my readings have been remaining stable.)Because of a low blood sugar event on Friday, my healthcare team has taken me off of one medication and lowered my insulin so we can see where that puts me.
Oh, and I started P90X yesterday. I had a surge of energy and got the living room cleaned up so my granddaughter and I had room to do the workout. About halfway through there was a lot of complaining and pouting, but I got over it!
I'm quite sore today, but it is a good sore! If anyone wants to do the workout with me, we could probably Skype it or something! LOL, just be prepared for the screaming and crying! I'll try to keep it inside, though!
Anyway, back to the grind of the 9 to 5 and then I will be back to working on my site. I am almost done with level 5 training, tonight should be my last night for that. Goal-setting! Yikes!
Hope you all have a great day and thank you for being my helpers in my time of need!
Best wishes,
Karin :)

Oh Karin... you’re so funny!
Happy you made it past that particular thorn. There will always be some hiding around the corner but now you know you can overcome them!
Congratulations on your blood sugar success and your exercise program. You’re just going to turn into a whole new person!
All the best.
KyleAnn
Yes I am glad I made it through, as well. It wasn’t as hard as I made it out to be, I guess!
Now if only that were true of the exercise program....
Best wishes,
Karin :)
Love the new profile pic! So glad to hear your blood sugar levels are good...and keep up the good workouts!
We don't need to touch the thorns to smell the rose or appreciate its exquisite beauty. Thanks. :-}
WooHoo! Congrats on making it through your first P90X! I had heard it was a tough one, so the screaming and crying doesn't come as much of a surprise, but you made it through, and that's the important part. Awesome work!
Thank you. It was tough, but I’ll be okay until yoga! I dread it which probably makes it even harder for me to do!
Best wishes,
Karin :)
