New Year's Resolutions NOT
So, another year has come and gone and I have yet to set any New Year's Resolutions—for 2018!
I'm a little behind schedule, I guess. That's nothing new for me. I am a chronic procrastinator!
It's now January 3, almost the 4th and I have actually been meeting a couple of the goals that I set for myself this year (2019).
I told myself I would like to post at least one encouraging post on Wealthy Affiliate each weekday. Three days, three posts... so far so good! If I continue on this course, at the end of the week I will have written 100 blog posts on WA that I hope have encouraged you to do the work you have set out to do.
I also made a goal to keep up to date with my client's website. He's sent me three things, I have posted three things! Check and check!
The third goal I set was to write at least one post per week on my personal websites... I still have a little over 48 hours to write those two posts. I have been working on them in my mind and in a notebook. I think by Saturday morning I should have both of them ready to go!
I usually don't set goals or resolutions for myself mostly because I am afraid of failure. If I set a goal and don't meet it—I've failed.
The fact is though, if I don't set a goal, I also don't have anything to aim for!

I'm not sure if that is exactly true, but you know what, I'm shooting for the moon anyway! I'm hoping that many of us will land among the stars this year!

Thanks Karin, you know I have not been very faithful at writing blogs for my site, guess I focus on trying to get the training settled in my head. But you gave me a great idea with your mention of a notebook for blog ideas. I believe I will take action on that...

Too much ambition for me. I'm an old bird. Takes me two hours to just get my wings untangled. But thanks for the kick--we all need it. I just resolve to keep going forward and never look back until I get to my goal--which is to have a successful online business. And you are an inspiration.
Thanks, Barbara. I love your resolve to keep moving forward to meet your goal. We all do things in our own way. I don't think anyone's way is better or worse—unless, of course, their way is inaction!

To avoid procrastination, I set a daily schedule for myself. And then I set goals. It helps.

Thanks, Sandy. I guess in a way I do that, but I usually call it "the list". That's the things I have to do for that day. If someone at work wants to know what I'm doing, I tell them to look at my list!

Oops, think I meet my competitor. Lol. I used to procrastinate a lot. Ha. To resolve and change my habit, slowly I learn to take action and move my butt.
I spend quite a substantial time on WA, probably I’m new here and have time right now but I know working on WA needs time to build because it’s a life-long marathon. Let’s run together! :o)
Thanks, Terand. That is one thing I have been working on for years—changing my bad habit of procrastinating! Realizing that this is a marathon and not a 100 yard dash is helpful, but also adds to my procrastination! Perhaps I need to train as if it is a 100 yard dash? LOL At any rate, yes, let's run together!

Goals are great! We need them to keep ourselves accountable and on track as well as have a sense of purpose then success when we achieve them. However, be careful not to set your bar too high where it is difficult to maintain or achieve those goals lest disappointment set in when/if you are not able to make them. Don't get me wrong, set goals and by all means work hard to achieve them! Just make them reasonable and achievable so you can keep reaping success!

This place will make you change many things in your marketing world. You already have great goals but keep it going. Setting goals will take you a long way in this business especially if you meet the goals

Thanks for sharing. I am a goal setter and encourage everyone to set SMART goals just to have a measure to track and hold yourself accountable. Of course, not everyone agrees with that. I made a similar goal to post inspiring posts at least once a week this year, which is a huge improvement over last year. The point that we both make is that progress is better than nothing at all.
