My cat is staring at me
Don't worry, I am not having any paranoid problems right now. My cat IS actually staring at me. It's Monday night in my part of the world and she hasn't seen me all day.
Mondays are crazy for me because it is "paper day," in other words, the day we put together the two newspapers that I work at. We do all the last minute revisions, corrections, reproofing, laying out and finally one more proofreading and then send it to the publisher.
Today, I started with a school board meeting. Then worked at the office all afternoon until about 6:40 p.m. then went to a city council meeting that typically lasts one hour. But tonight, that one hour turned into over 2 hours! I was wondering if they were ever going to get tired of hearing themselves talk!
Then I had to go back to the newspaper office and do a final check of the front page and the advertisements.
I finally got home around 10 p.m.
So, now my cat is staring at me. She looks at me like she is wondering who I am and if I am going to feed her! She is kind of freaking me out a bit, but it's always been her way. Now she is meowing at me. Probably telling me it is time to go to bed!
Honestly, as disappointed as I am that I can't work on my site tonight. I am not going to argue with her. I am going to bed!
With hope, I will be able to get caught up on my site tomorrow!
Goodnight all!
Best wishes,

I have a plaque in my house that says, "The cat and his housekeeping staff live here."
So true!

As an owner of 2 cats, one of which wakes me at 5 am so I can feed her, I know one thing for sure ... Resistance is futile, give in to whatever she wants.

Oh Karin, that's funny. When I worked as Editor of a newspaper and when I got home late My cat stared at me, too. But I got the idea that it was a stare of disapproval accompanied with a question, "Who the heck are you?
That was a different cat. Now I have two cats, both about 13, and they stare at me, too. But I think it is because they are both nearly blind and they are looking to be sure it's me. Or may be they think I can't see them very well since they have trouble seeing me.
No telling what cats think.
LOL, Barbara! That stare must be a universal thing! I know my little Mittens will sit and stare at me for long periods of time. Then she starts the slow blink. It sure is nice to earn the affection of a cat!
Best wishes,
