Let's hear it for organic traffic!
If you have read my last post you know that I have been squandering my time with too many video games. After reading some of your replies to the post, I know I am not alone.
So, in an effort to get myself re-motivated, I decided to actually check my email for my websites and found the attached image of wonderful information...
I was shocked to see that organic search was making up 60% of my visitors! Shocked and excited at the same time!
I think this is one of the boosts that I have needed to get me out of the funk that has been holding me back from even trying!
I have been using the WA training and platform for well over a year now. I get bored with things easily, but so far I have not gotten bored with WA and when I see things like the report above from Google Analytics, I get a new little spark that just keeps me motivated!
You know, this whole website thing might really be the answer to the "I hate my job" syndrome I have been suffering from!

Well Karin, another great revelation. I must be the only stupid one who reads your blogs, but I confess I'm not sure what organic search or organic traffic is.
I have installed Google Analytics, but I'm not even sure where it is out in Googleland somewhere.
I think all this stuff is beyond me.
But I still like your blogs--keep it up.
Hi Barbara, please don't feel stupid. They say the only stupid question is the one we don't ask. It's all a learning curve and we are all at different stages of that curve.
Organic search and organic traffic are beyond most people's understanding, these are terms you pick up along the way.
I'll do my best to explain. Imagine that you're looking for your favourite recipe online. You type the name of the recipe into Google, Bing or Yahoo and it kicks up pages and pages of answers.
You go onto the first page that appears and click through to the first recipe that looks like the exact recipe you remember. You have just found a recipe using organic search.
If the person who published the recipe used the exact words you were searching for in their title and as their keyword, it would have been optimised for organic search.
And when they looked at their google analytics, it would show up as organic search.
So Keyword Research and SEO is the way to get organic traffic. And it's free.
There are other free ways to get traffic to your site. You could use social media (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn etc).
You could use more advanced strategies like paid traffic. (Facebook Ads, YouTube Ads, PPC etc.)

Month after month you make great progress and this traffic is just the result of your hard work during this year. So do not discourage and continue on this good path.
