It's always a thrill
But there are a few things that always seem to thrill me. Let me tell you about one of them...
My big thrill . . .
One of the big thrills that I enjoy over and over again is getting an article indexed in Google. There are several reasons that I love it!
According to Google itself, being indexed means: A page is indexed by Google if it has been visited by the Google crawler ("Googlebot"), analyzed for content and meaning, and stored in the Google index. Indexed pages can be shown in Google Search results (if they follow Google's webmaster guidelines).
What that means and why it gives me a thrill is:
- Google has indexed the article, therefore it can found in Google search results.
- Google is huge. You don't hear people say, "Go Bing it," but you do hear them say, "Go Google it!" (That is not to say that Bing, Yahoo and other search engines are not any good, just that Google is apparently the one to master!)
- If my page, site or post has been indexed in Google, that means I have done things right in the article.
- It means my post is more likely to be found.
Being found means being seen. Being seen means potential regular readers. Potential regular readers means potential sales!
The thrill isn't gone! If anything, the thrill is stronger than ever because it means there is more potential! I am all about more potential!

Interesting post Karin. Never thought about getting indexed that way. Yes, google is the world, it seems like. Everyone of my posts has been indexed, and I kind of lost the excitement about it. Thanks for reminding me that it is worth a "shout out" for every index. At least, we are doing something right.
Any time something happens with my website is exciting! LOL... Unless it is something bad, of course...
I still have posts that have not been indexed that I wrote two years ago... Not sure what that is all about...

Bing and yahoo combine ku count 30% and certain posts are searched more in bing and yahoo compared to Google.
Definitely there is a joy in writing a post which helps people.

Yes indeed it's a big thrill to think that our contents are being indexed, because this is the best proof that the content we published was been found useful and valuable for google's visitors. So we can expect the site visitor to come back to your website if we can impress them with the kind of contents we publish.
