I'm not on the royal road
There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures. – Josiah Gilbert Holland
I like the idea that there is no "royal road." It is very fitting here at Wealthy Affiliate. Of course there are always some people who do seem to make it faster than others, but for most of us, hard work, patience and perseverance is the key!
I grew up on a farm, so I am no stranger to hard work, patience and perseverance! Although the work I do on my websites is not usually physically hard, sometimes the mental work can be nearly overwhelming.I've never been an overly patient person, however. I want whatever it is [that I want] right now or ten minutes ago! When I work on losing weight—I want that weight gone when I wake up in the morning!
When I create a website, I want it to be popular, number one in the rankings and making me money last week!
It won't happen overnight
Thankfully, most of us know that we won't get rich overnight. It will take time and some good quality work. I don't mind. Right now I am okay at my job (even though I can't make any more money at it: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/karin13/blog/i-cant-make-any...)
When we come to understand that what we are doing takes work and that we have to be better than our competition and we have to be patient, that's when we truly can call ourselves entrepreneurs (in my humble opinion). Until we come to those realizations, I don't believe that we are ready for the work before us because it doesn't happen by magic. (If it did, we'd all be gazillionares!)I'm a realist, creating something out of nothing isn't easy. We are creating our websites from nothing with only the power of our minds to lead us. For some, that can be frightening. But it doesn't have to be.
Don't be afraid to take your power, grow your website slowly, but surely and work hard at it because one day you will break through. You will beat out the competition. You will truly be an entrepreneur!
Best wishes,
Karin :)

So right, Karin.
We need to focus on the journey and keep our noses to the grindstone. Our hard work will pay off.
Have a great weekend!
