I think I'm having a power surge

Okay, seriously! I am having a power surge! My face is hot. My whole body feels hot. It's about 20 degrees above 0 outside and about 60 degrees where I am inside and yet, I am breaking a sweat!

Actually, I think what most people call it is a "hot flash!" But where I work, we have decided to call it a "power surge" and to treat it as such!

We have almost all female employees where I work so if someone isn't PMSing, then someone else is power surging! Poor guys where I work! But lately I think they have been going through the same things!

Why do I tell you this? Because as part of our lives, we will go through things that aren't exactly pleasant, but we just have to work through them. When a "power surge" is coming on, I get very sick to my stomach. Then dizzy, then sweaty! (I don't know why hot flashes don't burn calories!! I would weigh about 120 pounds right now!)

I could just sit and let myself do nothing until the sick feeling and the hot flash fade, but since I get several every hour, I probably wouldn't get much work done.

So I work through it. I actually envision a "power surge" and I try to perform my tasks quicker and more efficiently. Because I am trying not to feel sick, I focus my thoughts and energy on my tasks.

It isn't always possible, sometimes the feeling is just too overwhelming, but most times, I can make myself focus to keep going on a project.

Whatever our "power surge" is, just remember, even though we can't control when or where it happens, we can control our thoughts about it and try to make it work for our good.

Oh, boy...Here comes another... Off to write a new post for my website!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

You are going through a lot but it's nice to know that you are taking it well. I know it is hard, but think of the good time you will have when you are finished working.
All the best.

Yes that will be nice.

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Great power surge, Karin.

Thanks!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

You're welcome, Karin.

Whenever you feel them just write.

You're doing great!

Meditation helps also.

I suffer with this too!

Peace

Maxine

Omgoodness your are such a trooper. I can’t imagine having to work through such discomfort in a daily basis.

I know your not asking for advise but I just thought I’d put it out there in case this info. helps. Dr. Anna Cabeca (writes blogs online) about this specifically.

Hang in there;)

Thank you for your suggestion. I will check out her blog!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Thanks for sharing, Karin.

You’re welcome!

Oh girlfriend, I can so relate. After years of melt downs (all day, all night), I was a sweaty, cranky mess. I finally gave in and went to my doc begging for some help, yes, I tried EVERY natural remedy out there with no lasting success. I started on bio-identical hormones. Had to do it to save my sanity. If you could only sell all the energy used to fuel hot flashes, we could be rich!! A new niche! Wishing you cool breezes...

Thanks! Yes. We would be rich. I am sure there is someone, somewhere, trying to figure out a way to do that as we speak!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

So sorry to feel your discomfort. Is there nothing you can take to remedy the problem? Even something you can eat...can't remember my own hot flashes, they were so long ago, but seems to me they weren't that bad...just overheated me...a situation I would like right now. Our systems are so strange!

It’s all good. I can take things, but I am taking so many things for diabetes now, I don’t want to add anything else.
Our systems are strange, but wonderful!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Is power surge an illness or is it a symptom?
I sometimes experience sweating even at night and even in a pleasant condition.
I associate this with the heart disease I have.

It is a symptom of menopause. One of the many “perks” of growing older for women! :)

Best wishes,
Karin :)

The opposite of that is I believe a Sag. Things would cool off then!

I bet they would!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

I extremely love this. I wish you all the best

Thanks! :)

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Are you ok?

I am great!

Best wishes,
Karin :)
