Design your own future

I could tell you that it was "by design" that this is my 100th blog post on Wealthy Affiliate. I could tell you that when I started this journey in June 2018 that I had it all worked out and that by the choices I made it was all in the grand scheme of things.
I could tell you that, but it wouldn't be 100% true.
A little over six months ago, I didn't even know I would be here at Wealthy Affiliate. But here I am. I think the only way I could be happier is if I was making the six figure income I am planning for—right now!
How does one design their own life?
I wish I could tell you that there is an "easy three step process" that if you just follow, your life will work out perfectly as you plan it. (And don't forget to order the "free" ebook that will give you a few "teasers" to tempt you into buying my whole "Design Your Life in Three Easy Steps" program for $99—a $500 savings from the original price!)
Please don't try to order this! It doesn't exist. Not from me and not from anyone else, either (in my humble opinion!).
As I mentioned in another post this week, I decided I needed to set some goals. I purchased a one-year success planner from the Jim Rohn Success Team.
Of course, there is an entire year-long course that I could enroll in for additional funds, but I decided to try to design my life myself with the help of the planner.
I've never really used a planner before and this one is so fancy I almost hate to write in it, but I'm taking the plunge and am writing in it—in pencil!
It also came with a companion journal, which was free! I've decided to write in the journal in ink so I have a long-standing record of my year.
I used to write all of my journals in pencil—I told myself that I did it so that if I decided to change my life, all I had to do was erase the record in my journal and presto-chango—new life!
But I'm writing this one in ink because it will feel more permanent.
Now, with the intention of not breaking any copyright laws, I will tell you that there are some exercises at the beginning of the success planner.
The first exercise is to list five things that you have accomplished that you are proud of.
The next four steps are to list what you would like to accomplish over the next ten years and then there are steps to break those larger "goals" down into smaller bites.
As I am looking over these tasks, one thing comes to my mind:
Wow! I should have started this planner back in June!
But I am working more on becoming undaunted as one of my goals, too, so I will forge ahead!
I think this planner will help me greatly as I plan out several areas of my life, especially my work here through my websites. I have also created a very simple content planner so that I can have a theme and more of a plan of how and when my posts will come out and be more relevant to times of the year, etc.
I can't tell you how to design your life, but this is what I am going to be doing. I'll let you know around my 200th WA post how it's going!

I love Jim Rohn and other mentors like him. Your post brought back some memories. It is a life style of habits to think in the way Jim Rohn has laid the path for success.

I totally agree about writing something down, for me the first thing I do in the morning is to write that that I am grateful for. Than write plans and goals afterwards.
Makes you feel great, 10 foot tall and ready to conquer the world.

A planner helps. I use a couple. I use a day-timer for a daily list. I have a couple of notebooks with different WA stats in them.
I am very fortunate, as my life has been lived pretty much by design. I am not wealthy, but have done the things I wanted to do and have been very happy. And now I've found WA, and have set some more goals. What fun!

I truly hope you will check out Jim Rohn. While he's no longer with us, his words and wisdom live on! You can learn a lot from him.
