You may add # in the URL option of the attached custom link for it to do nothing. That's in Appearance > Menus

However I would consider adding a category i.e. "Learn" and then assigning posts to your categories, where your category is attached to your menu.

Tutorial

I would definitely go for a category vs a page.

I think this option is better. Thanks

Of course it is.

And you are super welcome.

To stop a page or post from being indexed, use your SEO plugin to set it to noindex.

To stop a page from being shown at all, under Visibility change it from Public to Private. You will still see it when logged in as an administrator but it will otherwise be invisible.

Does that stop Google from indexing it?

Yes.

I am trying to add the recent post widget and links to certain pages within my footer, and I am having the hardest time with this task. I can add the posts widget, but it does

How to Tutorial | Elementor Docs

https://elementor.com/help/posts-widget-pro/

if still unable manage, I would reach out to their forums | Facebook community.

can you not add the block editor block of recent posts and then set it up so that is only shows the title and maybe date and author...
you shouldn't need a plugin to do this ...

or has it not got a widget to add this and you just need to style it...
most of what you want is in here
https://elementor.com/help/posts-widget-pro/
you will need to switch most of it off...leaving the title...
phil

I played around with the different widgets and worked it out. you can add a list icons and then change the list to the pages you want to add, and then I just added the post grid widget an styled it the way I wanted it to look. Thanks

hello, trying to understand google analytics...Google keeps saying that my pages are "currently discovered, not indexed. But, I'm getting page views and bounce rates for that p

Hey, So Google will often discover your blog but will not index for one or more of many reasons. In other words, it will read and track some data, but will not index your site. Your website could be too new and is not big enough yet, there can be bugs or mistakes in your layout, poorly written blogs can be discovered and not indexed. If your website is new, chances are it is for this reason, check on yahoo and big ( Microsoft ) are your posts indexing there?

I know google has billions of pages to index, I know it takes a while, just trying to make sure that I'm doing everything right, I'll just keep providing helpful content and hopefully, google will get around to indexing my content...thanks all!

Has it been figured out?

no, I don't know if it's a problem or if Google is just taking forever to index my content.

Indexing is late, an issue may have to do with Google MUM

I did some research and what I found is that Google knows about these URLs, but they haven't been crawled (and therefore indexed) them yet, but they have traffic.

If you have good quality content, this URL state is will automatically resolve after Google's crawls the URLs.

I have not experienced this yet, tut the explanation makes sense..

Are you doing a lot of the viewing, Karen?

Jeff

I’ve excluded my IP address, so it shouldn’t be showing me as a page view.

Okay, Karen! You are on the ball, so I just wanted to make sure!

Jeff

Hi - are your views coming from other search engines such as Bing, Yahoo, Yandex, etc? If you go to Acquisition in Analytics, it will break down where your traffic came from.

I’m only seeing a combination of:

Direct (none)
Bing (none)
Ductductgo (referral)
WA (referral
Generatepress (referral0

I have some troubleshooting tickets opened with WA and GeneratePress, so that could explain that traffic. Not sure what direct is.

Hi - so WA and GP could account for your traffic.

Direct means that someone has typed your URL directly in their browser, or they have saved it as a bookmark.

It can also mean that Google has no idea where it came from!

WA recommends the SEO framework.

However if you are already using AIOSEO, then you can carry on using. as perhaps you may want to have a new niche site, you may then use the SEO framework, save messing up site (Kyle's recommendation).

Hello, not sure if this is the right group, I have been trying to get google search console to work, and I have been unsuccessful. I have an open ticket with Monsterinsights b

Hope you got figured out.

you will need ot add your analytics code somewhere else on your site ...
i would advise ad inserter plugin ...
as detailed in this training to find your analytics code
goto your analytics account
click on admin
click on data streams
click on the right arrow on the data stream and a new window will popup
click on html code and copy the whole lot ...
paste this in the head part of ad inserter ...
switch that on and save...
and you are done....
let me know how you get on....
phil
definitely don't delet the analytics property as you will lose al lthe data...

I just deactivated the monsterinsights plugin, and added the analytics code to my site via google site kit. Everything is now showing connected. Thanks

I would recommend using only one data analytics program and would recommend Google Analytics and Google Search Console. At this point in time there should not be must data in Monster insights so deactivating it should not cause much if any analytics data loss. It will not affect your post content.

Did you use a plugin like ad Inserter to put the Google Analytics cod in your header? Were are you stuck" .

Yeah, I just deactivated monsterinsights and added the google analytics via site kit, and now google search console is showing connected. No data, but I’m guessing it take a minute to update. Thanks

Don't worry about the data right now. The important thing is to get Google Analytics and Google Search Console working for you.

Great class, but did not fix my google search console problem.

I use GSC extensively. If you can tell me what your specific problem is, I may be able to help.

I think it’s the plugin monsterinsights. I deactivated it and just installed the google analytic code and now search console is connected. Thank you.

Great news, Karen.
