Finding My Niche Part 1.
A few months ago, for reasons I cannot remember, I took my daughters car seat out the car.I was sitting on the floor playing with her, in her bedroom, and looking at the car seat I noticed that the handle adjusting the headrest was perishing from exposure to the sun. That led me to start thinking... we live in Africa even our Winters are warm compared to most parts of the world and yet we do not have any heat protective covers for our vehicles, let alone the baby car seats. I started researching this and looking at costs of manufacturing this type of cover. To manufacture locally would be quite expensive and we have this unique phenomenon in South Africa called "load shedding", our electricity is switched off for a certain amount of hours every day, especially in Winter. This does not bode well for manufacturing concerns.Besides the manufacturing costs I would need to take the labour unions into account, which can also pose many problems for a manufacturing concern. So I turned my attention to China, is it cheaper to buy raw material and outsource the manufacturing locally, or would it be cheaper to buy the fully manufactured and packaged product directly from China and sell it locally. If I did that I would need to consider "Forward Cover" and a fluctuating exchange rate, then the Chinese dumped their currency and everything went crazy.I already knew that an online business and internet marketing would be crucial to the success of this business and the selling of this product, but the looming costs were not making it viable. My vision of this unique product in Africa, one of the hottest continents on earth, was fading fast. I continued on my quest to find a viable way to make this happen, I believed in it so passionately, I was not giving up so easily. I was on another site looking for a pattern maker, to create the pattern for my chair cover, when I accidentally opened a post from someone else on this other website. This post led me directly to Wealth Affiliate and when I read the initial page it all made so much sense to me. I know about affiliate programs, I know how beneficial SEO rankings and Internet marketing is to mine and my husbands existing businesses."Why had I not thought of this before?" It all made such logical sense and the idea is so simple and extraordinary, all at the same time, it blew my mind. We would not have a current income without the internet and social marketing for our local businesses, we know from personal experience how important internet marketing is and being no.1 on Google. I did further research and having a baby I know that everything we have in Africa is imported from Europe,USA and Australia. The covers I was looking for are on Affiliate programs, I don't need to reinvent the wheel, I only need to sell them properly from my website. We do not have specialised sites for niche markets, researching further there is no site that particularly pertains to Babies and travel. So I had one of my niche markets right there.Instead of laying out, what would have been, in the region of $3000.00 to start my business, I joined WA and I can help moms all over Africa prevent their babies from being burnt by hot car seats.
